Does he have a site. I can't seem to find one -
The car is finished. The rear bumpers are not going in straight and I broke one. I glued it back together and you can't really tell too much unless you look closely. The fan shroud is also not fitting with the chassis right so I'm glueing the hood down since it looks silly. This is definitely not my best work but it's the first model I finished in a couple of years. I been working on others but haven't finished. I was hoping it would have been an easy final assembly but really it was the opposite. I'm glad I finally built the kit though. It really was a ton of fun, in spite of the issues

i chrome penned the corvette logo on the gas lid and the script in the back and it came out ok. there was one on the side that had no detail, so it looks like its just a silver bar. i should have left it, but i hoped it would have worked. anyway, i glued in the glass during my lunch break, and i should be able to finish this up tonight after work, if there is no issues. everything that needs glue has been glued and anything that needs paint has been painted and is dry or drying now. i just need to put the engine in, the interior in, the engine compartment in and put it all together. if everything fits ok, i probably have like 20 minutes left i will take pics as soon as it is finished.

i somehow lost the radiator. i know i had it because i remember painting it. the kit has a separate fan shroud so i might have to put it together without it if i cant find it. this build is far from perfect, so im not going to worry much if i cant find it. besides, i dont think the hood stays shut right without glue so i might need to glue the hood anyway. i will have to see when i get to that point.

What was your first model car?
MrMiles replied to Kit Karson's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
i remember the 68 or 69 corvette was the first model that i built and painted. i brush painted it red with testors paint. i put it on so thick that there was no detail left. i was so proud of it, that i had it displayed on my shelf for years. i kind of wish i remembered exactly which kit it was so i could rebuild it. i would build it in red, even though today i very much dislike red cars. -

revell parts replacement?
MrMiles replied to MrMiles's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I got around to checking the hood and the new one sits perfect. I'm so glad they replaced it -

The gloss coat helped even out the color and it looks much better today. I still think there is too much metallic but it's not horrible
-
I gave it the last gloss coat right before bed. Tomorrow I will post a picture of it. I did the black in the edges but I do not know if it is enough or if I need to do more. I think next time I will do it after the prime but before the color coat

revell parts replacement?
MrMiles replied to MrMiles's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I never received a response but the part arrived today -
I did the first 2 coats of paint and I don't like the color. I used testors extreme lawyer in silver blue and there is so much flake in it that it looks like the Corvette summer car Also the panel lines are staying white so I'm going to have to do a black wash on it.

i finally primer the body. tomorrow i will paint it. im going with the blue. im going to do the 63 in white
-
i actually fixed that this morning, thank you

i saw on scalemates there was a new premium hobby exclusive corvette. on scalemates it says there are different decals, and i ordered the kit to see what different besides the box, and found the decals are the same as the normal amt kit with the blue car. i didnt think the blue has been discontinued, so i guess my stupid question is what is the point of making the one with the red box? https://www.scalemates.com/kits/amt-cp7728-63-corvette--1315347 vs https://www.scalemates.com/kits/amt-861-63-corvette--265366 Compare side by side

I stopped using ebay to sell when they require my social security number just to list a single item. There is zero chance that is happening

the sort seems to be ok today. i guess they fixed it

im tired of searching for something and have it show up random stuff that doesnt match what im looking for. how about it just searches for what i tell it to and not what it wants

It's not actually flocking material. I use embossing powder. This one is straight navy but typically I mix a little if a different color like the 2 shades of green to make it not straight one solid color. For the navy I didn't have another color close
