Having to deal with what's being laid on you is a big responsibility as you know, especially the renting out her home and keeping track of all that is entailed with finding responsible, honest and paying tenants. I was shocked at how low my parents antiques and collectibles were valued at by the appraiser when he came through. If time is an issue and you need to disburse a lifetime of collectibles quickly, unfortunately an auction can bring in little revenue on those collectible items. It stinks when you think about just how much our loved ones precious belongs that they've cherished all their life are worth. One piece of advice I would give you is documentation! Document everything you do, who you speak with, the days, the dates and the times. When your plate is full, things can get confusing and it will definitely help keep you straight. As for the alarm company, you did the right thing. Crazy they handled it that way, especially not having an officer of the law to be called on scene. I'm sorry if I sound so negative but it's not a fun thing to have to deal with. Your Aunt is lucky you're willing to step up to the plate and help her. Good luck Ricky, and watch out for family, they can become your worst problem. I know, I'm dealing with that now.

We've been noticing that one of local grocery stores has been putting out dated goods on the shelves such as last week, mayonnaise dated used by Jan. 2024. A box of Brownie bites marked used by Jan. 2025 and scooby snacks dated also Jan. 2025, it's now fricken March. Tonight looked at the mayonnaise again, Feb. 2025. Tonight we bought a prepackaged red skin potato salad and upon opening it up for a side dish for dinner, it looked not right. It's dated use by March 16, 2025 and today is March 17th 2025, my bad for not checking it first. Tomorrow I'll be going back to have a discussion with a manager as to why should I not report them to the health dept! Another irk from the same store was some idiot price marked some of their 8 piece Hot Fried Chicken containers 29.99 and some $9.99, how incompetent.
