  1. Thank you everyone for the advice. The car will be in its own case and the decals were very expensive, so I am going to clear, then decal.
  2. New decals were junk. Now I am on the search for a well-made set.
  3. Can I clear over decals or should I clear it, then install the decals? Models is old with fresh paint, and decals are new.
  4. I need to slow down. I have already surpassed how far I got 50 years ago. Paint is done. Next will be decals, and maybe a clear after. I love the stories of those who watched Clifton race.
  5. For what I am doing, the decals will be fine. I am building it to be one of his early cars. It was dark red, and gold with no real shine to the paint. It may have turned out a little too dark, but I will get the gold on the rest of the body in a couple weeks, and see.
  6. Thanks I got it in primer last night, and discovered the instruction sheet was wrong. It points to the back hole to mate the front, and rear chassis together, but the Monte Carlo needs the middle hole to get the wheelbase right. I am not building Nascarlo here. LOL I guess MPC wanted one chassis for all their NASCAR series.
  7. So I am not sure what year the Coo Coo Marlin Monte Carlo model was released but it was my first model back in 1974. I never got to build it, as my brother asked my mom for it and she gave it to him. I was not happy, but it is what it is. So, this week I finally found one I was willing to pay for since they seem to fetch big bucks. I was complete minus the decals I would not have been able to use anyways. I ordered a new set of decals for it and can't wait to get started on it.
  8. Thank you everyone. It is the first big project I have taken on since getting back into modeling last year. Next is the 4x4 system from the Firstone F150 under the coke econline van of the same era.
  9. I have been working on this for 8 months or so. Two paint jobs later, and I think it is finished minus gluing in the extended exhaust. The frame was the biggest PIA. The rest was fairly straight forward.
  10. Yes. I have the 2017 pictured with engine, and a 2010 that has no engine
  11. Those parts are for the earlier LT1 engine that would have been in the Camaro Firebird 2003-2007, The part on the left is the distributer, and the on the right is the intake tube.
  12. 2021 Wrangler Willys Unlimited 2.0T, and 2021 Polaris Ranger 570 Premium
  13. As a Buick 3.8 SFI Turbo super freak, I would love to share a few things. I have owned several t-types, and one Grand National. There are three versions of the t-type. There is a blacked out version with all black trim, and paint. It is the WE4 package. It is the GN in every sense except name, wheels, and two tone interior. Next is the standard t-type. It was any Regal color, but with blacked out trim except the chrome bumpers. All of the above come with bucket seats, and console. And finally the Limited T-type. It is almost as rare as the GNX. It came with features like vinyl roof, bench seat, and full Regal chrome with no black out trim. If you have never driven a turbo Regal, I highly recommend it. I have owned three. One 87 GN, one 86 T-type, and one 87 Limited T-type.
  14. After a day of riding Trails in Jericho Mountain in Berlin NH, my wife and I decided to stop in to Walmart there before heading home. They had a display of models. Mostly Coke versions of everything. They also had two of these wagon kits for 20 bucks ea. The box was so small, I had to check the scale, but it was the 1/25 scale one I had been wanting. I almost bought both kits.
  15. So this week is 40% off all model kits at HL. Every other week they have the same sale. It is nice to get a 30 dollar model for 18 bucks. I remember buying kits for 3 bucks at Kmart a 100 years ago.
