Hi Gang! I just received my vintage Revell Baja Husky kit but it is missing the decal sheet and the tubing to make the cables and ignition wire. I'm thinking of using the tubing I have left over from the Grim Reaper chopper kit for this. Also, I'm thinking of removing the chrome from the fenders and painting them white to mimic the aftermarket plastic one you often see on these more modern-day bikes racing in the vintage class to save weight.

Seller got back to me and said that Ray is working to meet the release date for the Wild Hoss as well as the 1980 Bronco and f-150. All Freewheelin decals as well as a few others.

I can remember going with my cousin to C&C Ford in my hometown back in the late 70s maybe even early 80s and the sleazy salesman talked him into buying a green one with these same stripes. After my dad convinced him that he wasn't going to be able to make the payments along with the insurance and other costs, my dad had to go back and convince the dealership to take back the Bronco. He was devastated but I remember him getting a used '79 in blue some years later.

Just sent seller a message asking if he would be getting any of the Freewheeling Bronco sheets to sell. Maybe if enough of us do the same he will ask Ray to send many sheets over. Just Hoping.

Megahobby site still has it scheduled for June of this year. I'm thinking they will change it after the holiday. https://www.megahobby.com/products/preorder-wild-hoss-1978-ford-bronco-truck-1-25-amt-models-eta-june-2022.html

Any source for fine black tubing?
Mike C. replied to Mike C.'s topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I checked my leftover tubing from the grim reaper kit, and it looks like I'm going to have enough. I only hope it doesn't look too thick as the kit was 1:9. The Cibie decals from the fireball lights should work for the light covers. -
Most of his stuff is $8.95. The Canadian Ebay must show a different shipping cost. Now if he would only get some of the Freewheeling Bronco sheets in his store.

My understanding was the whole reason for the American Ebay store was to keep the sky high shipping cost down since there were so many American customers. Maybe I misunderstood. If I have to pay over $60 for 1 decal sheet, this model will be without any aftermarket decals.

Back when Ray was still running his Ebay store, I asked him if he was going to have some of the freeweeling sheets on the Ebay store when to kits came out. He said that he would but now he has a new seller here in the states so that the shipping wouldn't cost over $30 U.S. So far, I have seen no sign of this. Items for sale by pontiacbanker | eBay

Any source for fine black tubing?
Mike C. replied to Mike C.'s topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
A quick search and I've come up with these. Which one would be most convincing? CCoolant Hose # 2 1.25" Scale Diameter (1:24-1:25) "Black" (modelroundup.com) Coolant Hose # 2 1.25" Scale Diameter (1:24-1:25) "Black" (modelroundup.com) Flexible Hollow Radiator Hose (1 scale inch diameter) 4 FT (1/24 or 1/25) (modelroundup.com) -
Yeah, Just from the quick look at the bottom of the box, it almost looks like the decals haven't changed at all so I will be interested to get a look at the final product. I might have to go with the Ray's sheet even though they cost more than the kit itself. ?

I need some tubing to mimic the cables for a 1:12 motorcycle model. I'm almost positive I have seen stuff like this on model shop sites. does anybody have any other suggestions?
-
Well model arrived today and yes, the decal sheet was indeed missing but no big deal it's just a bunch of Bel Ray and Champion decals as well as the numbers for the plates. One other thing that was missing was the fine tubing to run the front brake, clutch and ignition cables. I have some left over from the Grim Reaper chopper I did a while back but if I run short, I'll have to source some from somewhere else. Looking forward to this build.

I find that too. In past years I would use spic and span floor cleaner but I don't even know if they make that stuff anymore. The Purple Power works nicely.

Epic build on so many levels. Exceptional work. ?
