  1. You can never go wrong with black. I love the depth of black when it is polished out.
  2. Fabulous work! You are the master!
  3. The style of this model of car is just over the top and you can go so many ways with it. I love what you have accomplished so far.
  4. I love how you did just a very mild rust job. My first rust chipping was way over the top and looked too much. Yours looks realistic and what you would see on the road.
  5. I like where you are going with this. I recently picked up and old electric pencil. I thought I would try it gently on some plastic to see how it would work to make it look like rust cancer.
  6. This was my second attempt at salt chipping my paint. This is my rendition of an old Salt Flats racer that was pulled from a barn to go race. I wanted something better for the tonneau cover snaps but ended up just dotting with a marker. The cover is tissue paper coated in Mod Podge to hold its shape. I spread out a strip of glue and a strip of salt and rolled the tires through both. I didn’t like the large size of the front tires but they were a set and I figured back in the day, the non-sponsored racers grabbed what they could.
  7. Thanks for all the responses. I sort of knew the answer but didn't want to admit it. I also figured someone out there (probably all of you) were much smarter than me!
  8. OK, I'm not a steady as I used to be. I accidentally let a very thin strip of CA glue fall onto a windshield. Will the CA glue remover that is available dissolve it so I can wipe it away or will it leave a residue? Am I stuck with polishing it out? Thanks in advance! Mike
  9. Awesome project! I used to have a 1:1 M-43 Ambulance and an M-37. Wish I still had both!
  10. My local Ollies have not had any new models in a couple months. I still check daily!
  11. That is a soft easy color on the eyes! I like it.
  12. Having owned many 1:1 classic cars, I would never have thought of the '58 Plymouth as a car to be tubbed and raced. But I love where you are going with this!
  13. I love the flare idea. Never thought about doing it like that.
  14. Nice! I LOVE OLLIES! There are quite a few around the Oklahoma City area. I check at least once a week for new models. Can't wait to see your finished build!
  15. Got it! Thanks for the reply.
  16. Greetings, I've been around the forum for a few years but not super active. Trying to get back in to a regular modeling rhythm. I read the forum rules and didn't see anything glaringly obvious as to why all my posts need to be approved by a moderator. If I did something wrong or need more posts, please let me know. Thanks! Mike
  17. That color really pops! Looks awesome so far.
  18. That interior looks great. I always hated molded in window cranks and door handles.
  19. That is some awesome planning! I would have just started building and torn it apart 14 times until I get it right. I have a lot to learn from modelers like you
  20. @Ace-Garageguy I have no idea how you have accomplished all this work to that poor lost body! I would have made 16 1/2 new curse words by now! You are awesome!
  21. I have made a few posts on some of the popular Facebook modeling groups but this forum is a friendlier hang out. Too much negativity on 'Faceplant'. LOL
  22. Hello from Oklahoma City area. I have been on the site for a few years but took some time off for work and such. I also moved from Mojave California to the Oklahoma City area. I'm 62 and have been building models since I was 10 or so. Just now getting super heavy into building as I look forward to retirement. I think I have collected 100+ models in the past 10 years and only really built one a year or so as time permitted. I'm going full steam ahead now! I'm really enjoying learning from you guys! You all rock!
  23. I love your work! I really need to get into this 3D printing stuff.
  24. I love the body pinning idea. I could have used that recently with a tough build.
  25. I love where you are going with this so far! I was going to build another ratrod but wanted to use one of those etched steel bomber seats. I knew I had one . . . . after looking for three hours, I found it. Looking forward to your finished build.
