  1. Weird, maybe...but we have to consider the source. I think a 4x4 version (from a different year) may be possible down the road from Moebius.
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see it stated anywhere this kit is going to be all-plastic...ditto for the '77 T/A. I think we're going to get unassembled kits with die-cast bodies for these two, just like before.
  3. I'm assuming it will be based on the existing '55-'57 "tri-five" tooling, rather than a completely new "from scratch" design, so if my assumption is correct, it would be more accurate to call it a modified reissue.
  4. I've never seen a kit with separate trim for the vinyl top (or second color roof paint) border, and it would have to be very thin to be in scale. It's not hard at all to add the trim to a body, though. Here's a '70 'cuda with the yellow floral top option. You can see the location of one of the top seams more clearly on the car to the left:
  5. The straight six Ford engine should be worth the price of the kit alone. (Yes, I know about the Kitchen Table Resins offering )
  6. We seemed to do just fine here last year with the "New Revell kits for 2012" topic, then starting a new, individual topic for each specific kit as it came closer to being released, but if anyone wants to start a topic on a specific kit months before it's released, please do. The Rat Roaster Kit Review topic is a good example of why threads started months before a kit is released holds value for many people.
  7. Well, 10:00 am CST is almost here... I'm wondering if Revell "held back" on anything at Toledo, but seeing as they brought the entire first half of 2013 release flyer, it doesn't seem likely today's facebook announcement will have any "new" news.
  8. http://www.mooresmop.../modtop110.html I think a Floral Top decal would be very hard to install given the flat nature of a decal and the compound curvature of a roof, but maybe with enough decal softener it would work.
  9. I'm even more sure they realize without the K-car and it's many derivatives, Chrysler Corporation would have joined Packard, Studebaker, Cord, and all the other defunct American automakers almost two decades ago. They may not have been sexy, but they saved Chrysler. A model kit of an Aries or Reliant...no. I'm not even sure a resin kit would be worth creating, based on projected sales. I'm hoping Moebius' Ford Pickup kits sell well, and maybe spark an interest at Revell for them to take on a 1/25 scale '72-'80 D/W series and RC/TD project or two.
  10. It looks a little different to me.
  11. I was wondering if/when you were going to chime in. You must be tickled pink to see this kit finally be announced.
  12. I'm guessing no, since the cars are 1/24 scale and the trucks 1/25 scale. At least the '37 Panel is being reissued.
  13. Despite the fact these three kits or on hiatus for now, earlier versions can still be found on eBay and other sources without too much trouble. The Olds is ridiculously easy to find in mint condition as a promo.
  14. Thanks for taking the time to take and post all the pictures, Steve!
  15. Quoted for truth. Now we look at them through bifocals. Or for some, rose colored glasses.
  16. I think you are correct, especially considering the S&M '67 GTX is about to be reissued for a second time. Add narrow slicks, arched leaf springs, longer rear shocks...well, pretty much do what they did with the race versions in the '68 Hemi Dart and '68 Charger R/T kits. Thanks for sharing all the insider info, Tim. It must've been quite a relief to finally see/hear this kit announced, and finally be able to talk about it.

  18. Round2 owns the AMT, MPC, and Polar Lights brands, but AMT and MPC were previously owned by RC2, which is when many of the MPC kits were released under the AMT label (the '84 GMX 4x4 with the blue box art model, for example). Round2 has reissued MPC kits in MPC boxes and packaging, and they are very conscious of both the AMT and MPC brands, and what each brand means to consumers. The '76 Caprice, Rupp Snow Sport, Zingers! and so on have all been reissued in MPC packaging in the last few years, and I don't see that changing. Fundimensions was a subsidiary of General Mills, and was the division which managed the MPC brand in the mid '70s, which is why some MPC kits from that time period have the Fundimensions name in various places. MPC's heydeys were long over by the time I got into models in the early '80s, so MPC kits didn't appeal to me at all.
  19. I don't think they are the same as those in the Orange Crate, but rather all new tires all around. The Orange Crate's front tires have only three grooves, while the Rat Roaster's appear to have four.
  20. I started a new post for the upcoming 1/25 Revell '92 Mustang LX 5.0 notchback, so we could combine all the pics and info those who attended the Toledo NNL show took and shared with us.
  21. It will be interesting to see how well the MPC and Monogram Fox Mustang parts kitbash with the LX.
  22. No. It appears to be based on the existing 1/25 scale die-cast '77 T/A kit, and from looking at the release flyer, I suspect both kits will still have die-cast bodies and will not be all-plastic. '77 T/A:
  23. Your source appears to be correct.
  24. I think that is the case with these two. I recall Bob Downie praising the '77 T/A, and Jon Cole's(?) recent build here seemed to confirm Bob's positive comments. I think the Jeep Rubicon was the Lara Croft "Tomb Raider" die-cast body kit in its last incarnation? I think it has a very nice set of off-road tires included, too.
  25. It looks like stock and highway patrol are the two options, but they are not very different from one another. I see a separate sprue which might contain some small police-specific bits, but other than the light bar for the roof, there are not many "extra" parts for the HP version. Nor the two additional Foose branded kits. I'm happy about that.
