Which store is that, Jordan? It looks semi-familiar, as I was in a few Twin Cities HSs in '93 or so.

This is my favorite blinker fliud, sold by KaleCo Auto. I use it on all my vehicles, and even replace the OEM blinker fluid with it since they tend to put the cheapest possible fluid in from the factory: http://kalecoauto.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9&products_id=22 I put this fliud in my Astro's bulbs and eight years later, it still looks brand new. Plus, the gallon should last just about forever. I'm a customer for life.

What size are the images you're trying to upload, Jim?

Why are there no custom decal makers?
Casey replied to MAGNUM4342's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There's another reason. I paid $450 for my ALPS printer in '98 or so, and I don't think they've come down in price. $700.00 out of pocket just to start making decals is not something most people are willing to spend, then try to make that money back on selling 70 $10 decal sheets. -
There is a tech issue with image attachments in the "new" truck sections which I brought to Dave Ambrose's attention. He is going to look into it this weekend.

Why are there no custom decal makers?
Casey replied to MAGNUM4342's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Here's why- most people are too cheap to pay for the person's time who makes the decal. Most people aren't aware of what is necessary to make a professional quality decal, how good the artwork needs to be, what file extension it needs to be saved as, and so on. The time it takes for the decal maker to get the artwork ready to print is where most of the cost and time is, and who wants to devote an hour of their time to make minimum wage or less? -
He actually has them hosted in a Photobucket account, according to the urls. I think it would be better if each model and images of that particular model were posted individually here, as separate posts in the appropriate area, so we can view each model on its own. Derrick, do you know how to add images from your PB account to the reply box here when you are creating a post? If not, here's a How-To: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12248

Realistic Resin figures for 1/24 1/25 cars
Casey replied to samurai7's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Doesn't that answer your original question? With fantasy and cartoon characters, you can get away with not being 100% accurate and lifelike. With lifelike figures, the human face and body is so intimately familiar, the replica figure has to be incredibly accurate, too, or it will instantly fail the eye test. -

Yep. It was stated earlier in this topic Tom Coolidge is working on the sedan body already. -

No, it's not gone, it was moved to the correct section. Check your PMs, or see here how to find where it was moved to: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=61235&hl= -
Revell '50 Oldsmobile Club Coupe 2'n1
Casey replied to styromaniac's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Dave, try copying and pasting the "[i M G]" image tag here on the forum, as that will post the image directly for easy viewing. You may have to click on the "Share" tab above your image in your PB account to see the image link options. I don't think there is an images/day limit, but I think seven or eight images per post is the limit...and thanks for sharing the pics so far. -

There is a forum issue with the "new" Model Trucks sub-sections when attachments are used to upload images. -
Nicely done, Mark.

Gotta love the 5(?)-speed. -
If I understand what I just looked at via the linked 'site, this MXXL 24 AH is basically the ultimate, go-anywhere RV/command center/whatever you want to use it for? Cool. They really have some unique vehicles, and this one appears to be the top of the line?

Revell '50 Oldsmobile Club Coupe 2'n1
Casey replied to styromaniac's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Hmmm, maybe Revell has decided most people will opt for photoetched emblems/nameplates, and forewent (is that a word?) engraving them into the tooling? I actually prefer them being left off, but to each their own. -

They have already arrived at Revell preferred partner retailers, or at least one, as Bob mentioned a few posts above. -

Realistic Resin figures for 1/24 1/25 cars
Casey replied to samurai7's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There's the catch- for the most part, when we build a car or truck, it's just that, a car or truck, not a diorama. 99.99% of us don't even put figures in the driver's seat, much less a car full of passengers. I don't think there is one good answer as to why figures and automotive models aren't combined more often. I asked about the lack of figures in kits a while ago here, and got some interesting responses: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=54030&hl=figures You also have to consider that fantasy and sci-fi figures can get away with being not 100% accurate or true to life, whereas a figure of a person better look 100% correct or it will be dismissed as cartoonish. Also consider the finishing aspect, which counts just as much toward realism as the person who sculpts the figure. Most auto modelers have likely never painted a figure, so there's a pretty steep learning curve. If you come from the sci-fi or fantasy model building arm of the hobby, odds are good you have more figure experience. -
I'm not doubting what he said on the G-body forum is true at all, and Angelo sounds like the ideal person for Revell to contact. I just recall hearing from a member here about Ed Sexton and/or someone from Revell showing up to measure some Mustang LX nothcbacks, and that project has yet to be announced as a formal kit. Eventually, I think the Mustang LX notchback kit will happen, but the timetable between doing research, taking measurements and photos, and a kit hitting store shelves can sometimes try our patience. I would think the kit would have to be 1/25 scale.

That looks like Motor City Resin Caster's kit. You may want to try PMing Jeff B with your questions and concerns. -
Lookin' for a '51 or '52 Ford F1 grille
Casey replied to bobss396's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
They list '51 & '52 Ford car grilles, but no '51 nor '52 truck grilles on their 'site. Might it have been SJS Details who made the grille you saw? Not sure if All American Models made the grille or not...Art? -
Thanks for sharing that, Don.
