  1. Bart, while I haven't used any of the spray products yet, I do have on my shelf a 1/72 scale F-86 Sabre that I foiled with BMF 20+ years ago and then applied the waterslide decals over the foil. It looks fine still with no lifting of decals, etc. I did not use any gloss coats on anything. I do remember the foilng process was tedious, but I love the results. Sorry no picture, my computer doesn't like downloading photos from my phone!
  2. Great Rod!! Lots of fascinating details. How did you do the chrome? Jim D.
  3. That would be my one and only stop in Montana! Jim D. in Texas
  4. Welcome to the forum, Evan and be sure to share your models even if not cars! Jim D.
  5. Welcome to the forum, love your lead sled! Jim D.
  6. Thanks for your reply, John. I have a several decades old glue bomb rescue 1959 Buick Invicta convertible project that will get either a nailhead if I find a good one or the Chevy 409 left over from the 1959 Impala kit I stole the frame from. LOL Jim D.
  7. John, where did you source the Nailhead from it looks really good, Jim D.
  8. Good Stuff, Brian!! Thank you for posting this info.
  9. re Anniversary is this weekend, so as they say, see you on the flip side. As I am infamous for around our congregation let me tell you congratulations on your anniversary and pass along my condolences to your wife. LOL Great looking truck!
  10. Chaz, the obvious display of workmanship seen in your cribbing construction bodes well for your results with the actual car project. Looking good! Thanks for sharing! Jim D.
  11. Welcome to the forum Kat. Perhaps as a Brit you'll recognize my reference to the Luddites when I disparage every other type of social media! LOL Jim D. Tennessee born, but Texas raised!
  12. Buying this kit if for no other reason than to have those SWEET headers in my parts box inventory!! Sweet looking model I don't recall having seen this one when first released.
  13. Love the Dio...Very effective use of the figures really brings it to life!
  14. Welcome back to the hobby and to the forum. Remember, if you are building for yourself the only opinion of your work that matters is your own. Good looking work so far.
  15. Andrew, I have really enjoyed your posting on Jim Clark's Lotus 25. Clark was my first driver hero when I was a pre-teen. I was in junior high when I found out he had been killed. I remember I was taking final exams that day. Needless to say, I didn't do well on them.
  16. Looking really sweet Bob. Following this one! Jim Dodson
  17. 'Piker!' We are in triple digits already in North Texas LOL But, Carl, I remember when spending summers with my grandparents in Blount County how oppressive the THI can be in the Volunteer State!!
  18. Welcome aboard Anthony. What part of the beautiful Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are you located?
  19. The patinaed finishes on the structure had me initially thinking these were reference photos! Excellent work. Well done!
  20. Owned a late first generation and it was hands down the best twisty roads fun I have ever owned!
  21. North Texas...July...Nuff Said LOL Thank our Lord for inventing Air Conditioning! But my old bones love this time of year versus them cold days.
  22. Perhaps I overlooked it, but for me (tool wise) a quality set of tweezers are a necessity, especially as I age and the digital dexterity gets shaker and shakier. I use needle point tweezers for almost every part placement. The tweezers designed for decal placement are also a welcome item in my model building toolkit. Welcome to the hobby and this forum. My heartfelt recommendation is to adhere to two simple rules... 1. Build for yourself! If you're happy with the final results, you've done a good job. 2. Have fun!!! Jim Dodson
  23. Ditto what Zippi posted! Jim Dodson USAF Veteran
