  1. Welcome to the forum Scott. Really like what you have going with the Edsel. Who offers that body? Is it cast resin or printed? Jim
  2. Is that a Buick Nailhead up front? Looks great where did you get the Nailhead?
  3. Whenever I see topics about filling seams I flash back to my young and stupid days, you know yesterday LOL when I used too much solvent based putty in one location and by the time it had dried I had a massive warp in the piece. Be cautious with any kind of solvent based solution.
  4. Love the treatment of the hood nose, thinned edges look very realistic. Great job all around!
  5. That interior is 'Striking'!! Love it!!
  6. At first glance, I thought this was to be an element in a wreck diorama...untimely meeting with a harvester combine out in the Midwest flatlands while running flat-out. That would still qualify as a CBR entry wouldn't it?
  7. A friend forever prejudiced me against the monstrous tuner wings by calling them convenient built-in carrying handles. LOL Nicely built model, I really like it. Well done.
  8. Looking good, Dan. That body color really grabs attention. Care to share any details with us about the paint used, etc.? Jim D.
  9. Welcome to the Forum, Michael. Really like your yellow pickup, very nice work on the 'suicide doors'!
  10. Only when I return to the old homestead in Ole Piney Holler, Blount County. But, in spite of being a 'Naturalized Texan' my heart still longs for the Smokey Mountains!
  11. Jerry, after 20+ years, I think you qualify to call yourself a 'Texan'! I came to Texas at four years old and say I'm a Texan, but my wife who is native born pushes back asking me "when did I go through the naturalization ceremony?" My reply..."When I graduated boot camp at Lackland" Welcome to the Forum. Sweet lookin' bike! Jim Dodson Rockwall, TX
  12. love the weathering/patina on these. Fantastic work Chuck!
  13. One of my all-time favorite Fords! What color is that on the body? Looks good!!
  14. Strongest memories from building model kits in those days... Producing psychedelic effects on the concrete porch out front from the overspray using the small testors and AMT spray paints got harsh words from parents and harsh chemicals on bare skin while removing said paint effects. LOL Loved the F1 cars and drivers of those days and when the first wings started to appear I discovered the vanes from discarded HVAC registers could be hacksawed out & attached to the AMT and IMC lotus Indycars to recreate those earliest grand prix cars. Discovered plastic cement was worthless as a glue in this multi-media application, but DAP white bathtub caulk would hold the wings on. Repurposing learned early growing up as a poor kid! LOL Jim D.
  15. Welcome to the forum Durhl, you'll be amazed at the change that has occurred in our hobby, most of them good LOL. By the way this old man has you beat. I built my first model in 1957. It was the AMT 40 Ford Tudor Sedan, quickly followed by the AMT 40 Ford Coupe. Those were great kits!! Enjoy your return to this great hobby. Jim D.
  16. Love where this one is going. Love the stance! Will be a real attention getter at Cruise Nights! Jim D
  17. Welcome to the Forum Darrell. Tons of motivation and Tips available here. Enjoy your Falcon! Jim D.
  18. Thomas, very impressive decal work. Well Done! Happy New Year to all! Jim D.
  19. Nathan, from one veteran to another, thank you for your service and enjoy the forum. Lots of great builders post here and some of us just 'lurk' because of the pleasant exchange of info. Jim Dodson USAF 1972-1982
  20. I should have been more diplomatic in my statement regarding the color 'yellow' on my old '71. Yours looks bright and beautiful! When I rescued mine from the used car lot its paint was beyond saving and required a respray regardless of the color chosen. My compliments on your 1:1 'stang and its awesome security system!
  21. Dennis, I am always impressed with your engineering skills. Fantastic work!
  22. Really digging the level of detail on the exhaust manifold. Cool looking Rod!
  23. Not the brightest bulbs in the box, but a mighty sweet ride! Nice job on the model!
