Project Terminator
Saltie Olds replied to Saltie Olds's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I haven’t forgotten about this project. I’m just waiting on a self locking switch, so that I could turn the eyes on and off. I have everything else I’m needing for the project. -

My other favorite Hot Wheels is the Bywayman. I’ll ba painting it to match my Hot Bird.
-
I got them from Keith Marks Decals. If you go to SCRedlines.com, you could create an account with them and order decals for either the 1/24 or 1/25 scale Firebird kits. In the Under Glass section, you could see the finished car.
-
Here’s the Hot Bird Completed. I’ll probably do a model of a trailer, to put behind the truck and do the car and the truck in the diorama section. Or I’ll just build a diorama scene for them, and put them into the diorama, for the diorama builds. Unless I’ll be able to do completed builds of both together in both cars and trucks under glass section for both.

Goth the very light coat of the Testors Color Shift Turquoise Waters on the car, and all the decals on it. Since I’m from WA., and so were my grandparents, I put on a Washington state plate.
-
Cool. I did a very light coat of it, just on the corners. If you look at my AE86 E. Levin build, I have a slightly thicker coat on that build. Later, I’ll PM you pictures of a ‘64 442 that I did.

I got the headlights, grilles, and wheels done today. I’m using the kit’s tires and wheel backs. These wheels are from a Monogram ‘56 Chevy. The kit I’m building is the Monogram ‘79 Trans Am 3 ‘n 1. I trued your sand the backs of the grilles, to open them up, but sanded them out instead. So I’m using some photo etch screen for the grilles. I like how they turned out. A happy mistake.

Got the base color down, Testors Black Chrome. Now in a few days, I’ll do a very light coat of the main color, Testors Color Shift Turquoise Waters.

Nope, I had the Hot Wheels Hot Bird, and I always loved playing with it, when I was at their place. The next part of this build will be my custom version of the Hot Wheels Bywayman.

My grandfather Styve passed away on 10/25/98 and my grandmother Styve passed away on 5/30/22. So I’m doing my own personal tribute builds of remembering always having a blast playing with my toy cars at my grandparents house. This build and my next build will be my personal tribute build to my grandparents.

Here’s my finished build of my Aoshima Toyota AE86 Levin Corolla. I have a close friend that his name is Erik Levin, hence the E. initial before the Levin name.
-
I got the project completed. Check it out in Under Glass, with the same name.

I’m almost done with this build. The next time I post this, it’ll be in Under Glass. It’s been a really fun build.
-
Here’s a couple shots of the interior and the wheels and tires I’m using on this one. My next one will have white wheels and a few extra parts that this one doesn’t have.

Getting there. This has Ben such a really fun build to do. Can’t wait until I get to do my next one.
