Thank You. It’s Testors Extreme Lacquer Root Beer, if I’m remembering correctly. If it’s called something else, I’ll let you know. -
From ‘98 to ‘00, I worked at a Hobby Store in Puyallup WA called All Hobbies. I had a nice dark red and black GMC Syclone that I did, I also converted it to 2wd ARII tires on a set of wheels, from the Tom Danial Alternomad kit. In about ‘03 or ‘04, the owner just closed everything down and never contacted anyone who had stuff on display, so I lost that GMC Syclone I did. So now, here’s my build of that truck again. Here’s a picture of the Johnny Lightning that inspired the first build.

With permission from Jonathan, I’ll be posting parts of my GMC Syclone here, and I’m calling mine Saltie’s Syclone. I had this Johnny Lightning Syclone, at one time, and did a model of it 20+ years ago, lost that first build, so doing another one. I’m going to be painting mine the same color as my S10 BAJA project was.

Here’s a few pictures of the body partway painted. I ran out of the color, so I’ll have to go get some more, then I’ll be able to finish painting the body. if I could go out and buy myself any Jeep right now, I’d go get a CJ-7. -

Here’s some pictures of the painted chassis. No I just need to figure out how to do the shocks for it. -

Cool. Yep. Thank You. If I do either of those builds, it would be just a themed build. I don’t plan on going out and buying two of the Tamiya Wrangler kits. If I did get one of those kits, the left half would be for MacGyver and the right half would be for Jurassic Park. -

Thank You Everyone. I’m actually thinking about doing a spring over on it. But do it in such a way it won’t lift it at all, from where it’s sitting now. -

Thanks. That’s what I’m thinking of going with. -

I’m thinking about going with those. They fill up the space in the wheel openings a lot more and better. They give it more of an off road feel and look to them -

Here’s a picture of the two types of tires I’m choosing between. I won’t be lifting the Jeep any more than I already have. -

Yep. I’d love to get a ‘78 CJ-7, with the straight 6 and 4 speed. I’ve been working on a lift for this, to clear either the BFG All Terrains or the mud tires. Would love to use the mud tires, but wouldn’t mind using the BFG’s as well. Got the chrome stripped off the wheels as well. -

Here’s my next project. It’s Monograms CJ-7 kit. I’m thinking of doing my own version of the Jeep from MacGyver or one from Jurassic Park / World. It’s looking like I’m going to need to figure out a 2/2.5 inch lift, and maybe put on bigger tires, or keep these BFG All Terrain’s. I’ve also thought about doing the left side as MacGyver and the right side as the Jurassic Park /World .

S10 BAJA
Saltie Olds replied to Saltie Olds's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Due to a variety of fitment issues, I’m calling this attempt done. Don’t worry, I’ll be attempting a S10 Baja again, at a different time. It’ll also be named S10 BAJA, but not sure how else I’ll be naming it. Like S10 BAJA II, Part 2, or Take 2, or give it the same name as this one and rename this one. -
