  1. Making progress on the Atlantis Kent Fuller Dragster with a VCG Resins Jiggler Flathead. Should be a cool one when done.
  2. They were modified Flatheads that were originally used in midget racing, but eventually ended up in some hot rods. There were some crazy variations on the Flatheads over the years but this had to be the wildest one.
  3. The Great Pumpkin is done. This is my Halloween build. This is a Revell 1932 Ford Tudor. The body is a chopped Drag City Castings 32 Tudor resin body. The factory style firewall is also from Drag City Castings. Color is MCW 1970 Dodge Go Mango Orange and interior is Tamiya Ghost Gray. Halloween decals are fingernail decals. The wheels and tires are Radir style from VCG Resins, 18/20 with their Dragmaster tires. The valve stems are aluminum from Protech. Disc brakes front and rear are also from VCG Resins. The Engine is a VCG Resins “Jiggler” Flathead probably one of the coolest Flatheads I have ever built. Carburetors and air cleaners are from Iceman Collections. Protech spark plug wires, looms and boots. Detail Masters fuel line and linkage. Protech sparkplug boots, wires and looms. The frame was lowered with an Iceman Collections Drop front axle and the rear was lowered with shorter shocks and airbags. The skull shifter is from STS decals and the chain steering wheel is from VCG Resins. The inside arm rests and door handles are from Iceman Collections. Seat belts are from Gofer and the dice are 5mm dice. All chrome was stripped and replaced with Revell Chrome or Alclad. License Plates and dash are from Best Model Car Parts. Enjoy.
  4. Avocado Hauler is done. This is a 1953 AMT Ford F-100. Color is MCW 1968 Dodge Avocado and Black. The wheels and tires are from VCG Resins and are the “Speedway Series”. Hubcaps are Spun Aluminum from Parts by Parks. Didn’t really want to cover those awesome rims, but Moon Hub caps are so cool too... The Engine is the Flathead from the kit, with Iceman Collections Carb, Distributor and coil and Detail Masters fuel line and linkage. Protech sparkplug boots, wires and looms. The bed had to be tubbed to fit the wider tires, and the frame was lowered all the way to the bump stops. The bumpers are 1937 Desoto bumpers. The blanket seat cover is from STS decals and shifter and chain steering wheel are from VCG Resins. The door handles are from Iceman Collections. Seat belts and bed wood are from Gofer. All chrome was stripped and replaced with Revell Chrome, and trim is Bare Metal foil. Fuzzy Dice are from Ken’s. Chain tailgate straps are scratch built with heat shrink as protection. License Plates and dash are from Best Model Car Parts. Enjoy.
  5. I just built the AMT right before this Revell one. Both are great. The AMT has beautiful lines.
  6. My last 2 builds. An AMT 49 Merc and a Revell 49 Merc. Wanted to build them back to back. Both were great to build.
  7. The "Mer-low" is done. This is a 1949 Revell Mercury Chopped Sedan. This was what was a typical 50’s custom Leadsled. It was lowered 3” in front and back. Color is a Ford Merlot Burgundy, with 2k clear. Engine is the 331 Cadillac from the kit, (which makes this a typical “Mercillac” from the era) with VCG Resins carbs, air cleaner. Protech sparkplug wires, boots and wire dividers and an Iceman distributor and coil. Iceman interior door handles and arm rests. Valve stems are scratch built. Ken’s fuzzy fur carpet and dice and lastly Detail Masters speaker grills on the back dash. All chrome was stripped and replaced with Revell Chrome, and trim is Bare Metal foil. License Plates and dash are from Best Model Car Parts. Enjoy.

  9. Yes, I stripped most of the chrome in Purple power, then I can sand the seams off, and then the Revell Chrome. that stuff is amazing for sure.

The paint job was inspired from the Gene Winfield fade paint jobs of the 60’s. Engine is the Flathead from the kit, with VCG Resins carbs, air cleaners, oil breather and headers. Protech sparkplug boots, MAD distributor. AMT classic whitewalls replaced the odd sized kit tires. Door handles, trim and emblems were shaved and filled. Trunk gaps were filled in and corners on hood were rounded. All chrome was replaced with Revell Chrome, and trim is Bare Metal foil. License Plates and dash are from Best Model Car Parts. And lastly the Tiki shifter is a VCG Resins gem!

  15. Solar Flare is done. This is a 1925 AMT T-Bucket, (Chopped T kit) with a VCG Resins Oldsmobile Hot Rod V-8 motor, fully wired with Protect wires and sparkplug boots. Track grill shell/nose is from Model Car Garage. It’s painted Testors Yellow decanted enamel. The rear wheels and tires are from the 34 Ford Slammer dirt track race car, and front are from the MPC Firetruck 13 hotrod. Gas tank, electric fan, shifter and Front axle are from VCG Resins. Ron Coon gas pedal and steering linkage. Kens flocking provided the interior. Diamond plate bed is scratch built. Wrapped up in 6 weeks. Still have another Chopped T kit calling my name! Enjoy.
  16. It's an amazing kit, glad I got one of the Mystery Motor options on the first day. Builds very easy.
  17. Goldfinger is done. This is a 1925 AMT Chopped T sitting on a VCG Resins T-Bucket frame with IRS Rearend (Amazing unit!). The heart of this build is the VCG Resins Ford 300 Inline Hot Rod motor, fully wired with Protect wires and sparkplug boots. Detail Masters fittings, and Fab Resins radiator fan. She ispainted Testors Pure Gold Lacquer and Tamiya Racing White frame and interior. Chrome is Alclad and Testors. Headlights and taillights are also Semi items from VCG Resins. The body is channeled 6” scale inches down on the frame, front wheels and tires are from 60 Ranchero. Interior has Kens fuzzy white carpet and VCG Resin Mustang shifter. Pinstripes and gauges are from Slixx decals. Tichy bolt heads are used throughout.Rest of the details are scratch built or from the stash/junk yard. Now on to another street hot rod build. Enjoy.
  18. The 1960 Ranchero is done, a fun build for Cinco de Mayo! The Rancher-low is a “mostly stock”1960 AMT Ranchero painted Mission Models Iridescent Pearl Wild Berry over silver and metallic Testors plum crazy purple roof and bed. All the chrome is Bare Metal Foil. I lowered it 6” scale inches, added Pegasus 15” mini Torque Trust rims with whitewalls. Texas 3D disc brakes. 8” chain steering wheel and chain license plates from. Hoppin Hydros. VCG Resins lowrider batteries, hydraulic pumps, coil and high slammed shifter. Dashboard and radio are from Car Parts, engine wires and looms are from Pro-tech. Iceman Collections Cadillac rear view mirrors, and the rest of the parts are from the stash of extras. Happy Cinco de Mayo (from a Irish guy!) Now on to another street hot rod build. Enjoy.
  19. Those are from Pro-Tech, I ordered them from ICEMAN Collections. They come in 90' or 45'. They are very small, but worth it
  20. 1932 Ford Revell 5 Window Coupe is done and in the case. Has a Steampunk look to it. This one might be my favorite to date. The color is Copper Fire Lacquer from Barbatos Rex over gloss black. All the chrome parts were stripped and replated with Alclad Copper. The firewall is an original wall from Dragcitycastings. The motor is a VCG Resins Offenhauser dual carb Flathead. The wheels are also from VCG Resins, Rocket Igniters with Firestone Champ Dragmasters, painted Gloss black with Copper trim rings. The brakes are VCG Resins front and back and the drive shaft is also from them. The front axle is a dropped unit from ICEMAN Collections and the steering linkage is all custom. The motor is detailed with Protech wires, boots, fuel lines and looms and the beehive oil filter is also from VCG Resins. The rest of the kit is out of the box. I do love the early Ford Hot Rods and this color combo make this stand out on the shelf. Enjoy.
  21. 1932 Ford Monogram Hot Rod is done and in the case. This is the kit that everyone was getting at Ollies for about 12 bucks. I figured I would give the kit some much deserved upgrades. The color is Mission Model Iridescent Turquoise and their clear coat. The wheels and tires are from the Revell 29 Model A. The convertible uptop is from Drag City Casting as is the stock fire wall. I had to have a Ford Motor in a Ford so the small block chevy was out and a Flathead Ford went in, with VCG Resins 2 barrel Autolite carb, Cadillac air cleaner, Iceman Collections Navarro Heads, alternator, and coil, Scale Model Garage flex fan and detail masters spark plug wires and fittings. A Parts by Parks aluminum Oil Filter and distributor were added. Iceman front Buick brakes and VCG Resins rear drum brakes. In the interior there is a new release VCG resins chain steering wheel (very cool), and doorknob shifter, and Ken’s fuzzy fur turquoise carpet. Custom headers and aluminum exhaust tips round it out. I do love the early Ford Hot Rods and this color combo make this stand out on the shelf. Enjoy.

  23. Yup, C-cabs are my favorite. We have one that comes to our local Cars and Coffee. Everyone always gathers around it.
  24. The MPC Fire Truck is done! This is the model version of the famous Chuck Miller’s Hot Rod that won the prestigious Ridler Award in 1968. Here are the details of this build. Mostly stock except, painted decanted Testors Dark Metal Enamel and all the chrome stripped and re-chromed with Alclad Chrome. Added correct Competition Resins 12 spoke wheels, Texas 3D rear disc brakes, Iceman Collections distributor, coil and offset universals and driveshaft, Kens Fuzzy Fur gold interior, ProTech fuel block, spark plug wires and dividers, scratch built correct headers and steering linkage. Now on to another street hot rod build. Enjoy.
