I open the kit right away and make sure it is complete and the parts are not damaged. That way if a part is missing or damaged, it will be easier to get a replacement from the manufacturer or return the kit to the store. I also put the decals and tires in their own bags.
Very interesting project. I will definitely keep track of this build. If anyone is interested in 1960's Chevy wire wheel covers, Scale Equipment Limited offers generic GM wire wheel covers. You can see them on their website, http://www.seltd.net/
My user name is the nickname I gave my 1964 Chevy Impala. Carrucha is a Chicano/Mexican slang term for an old beat up car. I call my 1964 Chevy Impala "carrucha" because it's an old beat up car.
She does sing like an angel. I have been to a couple of her concerts where she sang in Spanish and I was amazed by how great she sang in concert. Her sweet and powerful voice is as great in a live performance as it is on her albums.
In John Singleton's film "Baby Boy", the main character Jody builds lowrider models in his bedroom. He has several built models on his shelf and a stack of kit boxes on the floor.
The old '55 Chevy kit does come with a well detailed optional 409 engine. I really like the old box art. It would be cool if Revell reissued the newer '55 Chevy hardtop with the 1960's box art and optional gasser parts.
