  1. I am using the Micro Mesh sand paper series on the body. Starting with 3200 and ending up with 12000 grade. I will finish up with some more polishing compound and wax.
  2. Good times. It is something we need to do as modelers keeping the interest alive. I have tried with my grandsons and even though they love cars they haven't really taken to the hobby.
  3. Kevin congratulations I got it to work for me. Now I won't have to email you multiple times a year for an email list. Dave
  4. Beautiful and very realistic looking.
  5. Here are some updated photos. I am still working on getting the orange peel out of the body but it looks pretty good at this point. The chassis is coming along and I should be able to finish the chassis this week and start the bare metal foil etc.
  6. I have polished out the paint and it is looking good. I am finishing up the chassis this week. PeeBee you can certainly use my interior as reference. I will try to post this week a few more shots now that the paint is polished and the chassis is close to being finished. Thanks
  7. Good color choice and I will be excited to watch this.
  8. Thanks all. The wire wheels are the nicely detailed plastic units from the Tamiya Jaguar Mark II. I stripped the chrome and painted the Racing Green over the bare plastic to keep the paint buildup down. The Tamiya paint came straight from the rattle can and just required some light polishing with compounds to smooth out the light orange peel. I have a Morgan and the Gunze Triumph TR3 in the stash to go with this one! It's actually not a bad kit. The parts count is pretty low but the detail is nice. It has a lot of 70s Monogram compromises in the assembly, such as crude chassis detail and lots of molded detail where separate parts would be better, but it comes together well. The hood fit is terrible out of the box- I probably put ten hours into the hood and it's only about 90% there- but overall proportions are great and it's the only game in town for an XK120! Thank you! Again great job
  9. Where did the wire wheels come from? I love the color btw.
  10. That is a beautiful build and a model I have never seen before either.
  11. Got the paint buffed this afternoon and need to shoot some more clear on it but I would like the humidity to drop a tad before I do it.
  12. Thanks everyone. I have had a busy week this week but I should be able to get some work done on it tomorrow. Have a good weekend.
  13. I just ordered H-1 Copper paint from Scale Finishes for my build. I am excited to watch this build.
  14. Thanks That c pillar line was probably overlooked by me because of all of the 1:1 Chrysler muscle cars I have had with tons of body and paint imperfections! LOL!
  15. The color has turned out looking great as I am copying a 1:1 car I found on the internet. I had put the kit down for a few months after finishing the interior etc and I picked up again this week and plan on finishing it. I somehow overlooked that c pillar seem mold line and I should have used a little putty and sanded it. Oh well. The kit looks right to me except the one area that is a challenge is the grill. I have been working on the headlights to make them look more correct etc. Keith Mark's decals help that horrible tail light situation also. Anyhow thanks everyone and I will keep posting after I get the body polished out and probably shoot another coat of clear on it. Have a good day.
  16. Yes and thought the same thing last night.

    65 Mercury

Beautiful build. I am pretty sure I built one as a kid.
  18. I am excited to get one of these. I have had a few HRM transkits and they are fantastic.
  19. I am in the process of working on my 1968 Roadrunner. I am using MCW paints with the color being the 1968 Avocado Green. It is going well and I am trying to build a fairly simple kit by not wiring the engine etc. Some changes I am making are to add rocker moldings and using Keith Mark's decals for the rear tailight panel and lenses. Spending time now buffing and polishing the paint. Thanks for looking One more photo
  20. Well done. This is a kit I have wanted to build for numerous years. I always like the looks of the 65 Galaxie. I even like them as a little kit. Again great job.
  21. I got mine this weekend from Model Car Roundup. It is a fantastic kit. I cannot wait to start on it.
  22. Very Nice!
  23. Ordered mine this morning.
  24. That is great! Such a good job
