  1. Guys, help please.....I picked it up because of the blown engine, I want it for a street rod and I noticed all the custom parts. I seem to recall someone saying this was a model of a Barris car? Anyone have any info on it??? It looks interesting enough to actually build it,..... Any help is appreciated... Thanks,
  2. Steve, Thanks for the kinda words.....breaking the slump......PRICELESS..... Now to finish my tow Vettes......
  3. This first build is built from the Boyds 32 Ford kit It uses the rear slicks and wheels from the old AMT 5-7...I think they look right at home here.... Front wheels and tires from the parts box, injection and exhaust from the AMT 55 Chevy Nomad. Painted Tamiya Lime Green, no clear for that "suede" look.....Overall for a quick build I am pretty happy with it.... Now the other side of the coin......RAT ROD...... This bad boy was built from the parts box....Lindberg 32 for the cab and chassis, engine from the Switcheers T Bucket wheels from the AMT stock 32 Ford 5 window. Paint is Hot Rod grey Duplicolor.... slicks from putting some parts box tires in the Dremel tool and adding a file....Works pretty well....Metallic red "Diner Booth" bench seat, sorry I dont have a better pic...... And finally the brothers together..... These were the last 2 kits I finished before the 2 Vettes i posted the other day. Almost a year, but I seem to be back in the groove and makin some progress.... And for my last trick a modified Hot Wheels Escallade.... Tough to see in this pic, but I faded some Tamiya Gunmetal Paint around the lowers of this body, gives it a nice flair.... Also swapped wheels with a "Truckin" 1/64th diecast pick up, and paionted the interior with SEM buckskin... Hope you like 'em..... As alwsys, questions, comments and constructive critisims always welcome
  4. First I want to thank Ismael G and Bill G for their help with providing me some "reference material" for this 06 project. This is the interior of the Revell 2005 Corvette Convertable.... And a quick shot of the body above. It is painted Tamiya Mica Red straight over the red plastic in the kit, I needed a quickie to get the juices flowing again, and I think this kit is it..... I also started another Corvette..... it is the Aerovette....It is a the new issue, once again a quickie....Tamiya Mica Siler over plastic.....This one is comming along nicely. Once I get some more pics taken, I will get 'em posted,......Man, it is nice to get some work done again.... Thanks again Ismael and Bill..... here is my latest update, I got around to using the great reference pics provided by Bill and Ismael...... I think for my first C6 Chassis, it is looking fine..... Here is anothe shot of the beginning of the detail painting on the C6 body, weather strip and 3rd brake light.... Little blurry, as I woke my camera up pretty early for these shots.... Hopefully I will have this guy completed in the next month or so.... As always, comments, and constructive critisims always welcome....
  5. Jackie, Great to have you hear, you're goping to love this place.....I missed seeing your "mainstreamers" and killer "v-tops" Once again welcome!!!!!
  6. Here's the best I can do with undercarriage pics of the C6............They can be hard to find as hen's teeth. In fact, I think I got these from Izzy a while back. Once again Bill.....You da man.... thanks......
  7. Looking good Charlie....Keep us posted......
  8. Thanks Ismael...... With a new one at home it has taken some time to manage working on some projects again. Currently I have two Vette's on the bench...Gotta get some pictures....
  9. I need some pics of an 06 as I am trying to add some detail to the bottom side of my latest project. Tried Google and the Ebay route and nothing yet.....I got some great pics from Bill Geary of a C4 from the bay, but striking out on a 06.....
  10. Can someone lead me to an online retailer that can supply Ross Gibson Engines? My LHS, which isn't so local cannot get them and the next closest shop is over an hour away but can order them, but has a habbit of sometimes charging more than list.... Anyway, if someone can suggest a retailer where I can pick some of these up I would appreciate it. I would also be open to trades if anyway cares to do so also..... Thanks Again, ps: finally finding some free time to get some work done OTB and plan to post some pics soon.....
  11. Headed to the local Wally the other day, and guess what....I was shocked to find they gave plastic a bigger section then before, at least twice the space. But that isnt all....nope.....they added the Custom Color paints in bottles now too. Not to mention they had the Lindberg L700 turck adn trailer kit, but sadly,no Merc. I have no idea waht is going on but I thought with all the recent talk of palstic leavin Wally World and now this, I have to share.....
  12. I have started an new project recently....An MPC HEMI Cuda, picked ups some big and little Centerline Wheels from Pegasus, got some nice "racing" seats from Arrowhead. I even have some color ideas in my head, however, I do have one point of indecisiveness.....The power plant, I dont know if I want to use the HEMI from the 67 Coronet or if I want to use the HEMI from the Magnum wagon??? What do you guys think????? Thanks for the input..... LG
  13. this set of decals from da bay. It says they are for Hubert PLatts 62 Chevy. I cannot find any referece pics of a 62 that he ran. Can anyone shed some light??? here is the pic of the decal from the auction

  15. Darin, I like what you've done, hopefully these will be cast and made availabe soon, as I really like the GT you modified....May need one fo those... Hopefully your relationship with Don works out...
  16. YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!! Thanks again!!!!
  17. Thanks Bill....I had not thought of that one.....
  18. I could really use some help here....I am preparing to build myself an 86 Pace Car Replica and would liek to make it as accurate as possible. Anybody have any pictures of what the undercarrige of one of these Corvettes should look like? Thanks in advance for any help.... Tried a couple google searches and got only half of what I needed....
  19. Anyone use this paint yet??? I just stumblded across it and was wondering if it is worth picking some up or not..... Thanks,
  20. Guys while looking for some color info for my '60 build, I came across this link.... http://www.performancecoatings.dupont.com/...ette_codes.html I thought it could be quite useful, anyone else see the benefits???
  21. Not really a review, but I guess a rave.... This kit is a must have IMHO, it can be built SEVEN, yes seven different ways. Tons of speed, custom, and racing parts. I have already picked up an extra because there are just too many way to put this thing together. I am planning on building a road racer with on and a drag car with another, maybe after that...... Anyway, spend the money, I cannot see anyone who is a model car fanatic being disappointed in this one.....
  22. Now that does sound interesting Mark......Hmmm......
  23. I am going to give mine an AAR Style paint job with the AAR hood purchased from the 'Bay. Sublime Green paint with some Pegasus 19/23 Centerline wheels, maybe finished in some shade of Alclad????
