  1. MCW Tawny Gold enamel/polyurethane clear
  2. Well, Reid's car is done ,,or my version of it ,,sort of a tribute ,, if I could have found a 72 body or a 72 tail light panel that would have been nice! Lessons learned on Herb's car helped here with using the Nova Pro Street chassis . Probably start gathering stuff now to do Ronald Lyles 'cuda ,,in the mean time I got a Moebius 65 Ford service truck next up with some Detroit Diesel Allison decals I made for it.
  3. ............ok back on Reid's car,,,applied the decals last night, just shot the clear , let it level out and put it in the dehydrator in an hour or sp
  4. I did the AMT IH Scout as an inbetweener while I wait to get the Whisnant Duster decals from STS.... basically out of the box,,,threw in some details ,,,wiring,,parts bin master cyl/wiper motor/shocks/radiator ,used Fireball wheels-locking hubs and tires....made my own decals. Tru Scale Hull Gray paint left over from my ship building stints and shot with clear,,,some light weathering. Back in the 70's when I was in the Navy we had Scouts,Travellalls and Suburbans among a slew of other vehicles. I should have the Duster decals soon so I can get that puppy done.A couple of pics from the Jack Nicholson movie The Last Detail,,,,,a top 10 Navy movie!
  5. Welcome aboard
  6. Thanks Roger,,I'm pretty much stalled now until I get the hood/roof/trunk decals from STS
  7. The one manifold with the long runners came from the Pro Street GTX kit,,,the short one came from the Pro Street Nova which I am using,,it has some nicer detail with "WEIAND" molded in,looks closer to the actual one,I adapted it to a Hemi manifold base. The Lenco shifters I made from hat pins. The Lenco transmission is from Iceman
  8. Gary,,is that the 1st issue Road Boss ??!!
  9. It's like the surface of the sun outside today so I did some on the car .......... shot the MCW Tawney Gold,,,looks pretty close,,like I said the pictures are all over the place as far as hue ,,so ....Hemi coming together with the Lenco and some interior
  10. Thanks Maurice!
  11. ...............did a little tonight......... some body work,,engine placement ,narrowed Dana , I found a different tunnel ram,,I might use it instead of the one in the pic ,,,,I'm throwin' the Lenco in there too .... hopefully I can get the stance down some ,,we'll see .........don't know if I'm going to Carlisle or not ,,,,see what the weekend brings we're supposed to get bad storms here Friday night
  12. That's Reid's Don Hardy built 73 car ,,, look how low the front end is and the drooped nose!
  13. Yep....I found the same thing when I did the Motown Missile,,,,,, every picture had something that was different.STS got back to me on the decals ,he's going to do the hood/roof and trunk panels,,,,,,should look pretty good with the MCW Tawny Gold enamel
  14. From what I recall Herb saying is one of the wheelie bars broke and Buddy Martin made the call to take them both off!
  15. Roger,,I'm also using the "ramp" style hood scoop instead of the "snorkle" like in the pic I put up next to his hauler,,,seems like every picture I found of basically the same car had something different and I'm going with the Keystone Classic wheels.Oh and you mentioned the tan seats,,,,if you look at the same pic from back in the day,,those seats do look tan !!
  16. That's what I thought too,,,I wasn't sure because the car was done by Reid at his ARC shop ....so I'll go with that,,pretty much the same as the Demon build
  17. I thought I had the stance on my McCandless car down ........ I shoulda had the engine complete and used it during mock up instead of just the block/engine mounts ,,,yours is what I was shooting for, even with me cobbling up a rack and pinion deal and coil overs, using the Pro Street Nova worked out for me pretty good,,I just didn't take it far enough ,yours looks great!
  18. I just started on Reid Whisnant's 72 Duster Pro Stock... any 3D guys or resin casters out there make a 72 Duster taillight panel or combo taillight/deck lid like I did on the 69 to 68 GTX conversion ??
  19. Hey Walter! Lol,,,I was thinking about that !
  20. That same picture,,looking at the front,,,it's hard to tell whats up front,,maybe torsion bar??? on the left???? I dunno
  21. Thanks Roger! I'll give it my best shot....I'm going to get in touch with STS and see if he can do the top panels for me
  22. From what was said in the video about that car was that those were the original Drag 500's that were on the car when they got it ,so yeah prolly from the 70's .Looks like it is a link rear suspension from your pic which makes sense because Joe Fisher and Shoffner supposedly rebuilt the entire car in the ARC shop for 72 . I found a pic of that car before resto so yeah,,link rear n suspension,,not sure of the front . I couldn't find anything about the Lenco in the 72 car or not . I'm friends with David Hakim he was going to try and find out for me ,,he thinks Roy Hill might know,,,and weather permitting I'm planning to go out to Carlisle on Friday so maybe I can ask around . I also found a pic of his Don Hardy built car and the car as found before resto .Also STS didn't not make any of the roof/trunk or hood panel-lace-spiderweb panels so I'll just be doing it in Gold,,,I don't think I can replicate that with an airbrush!
  23. I had already grafted the Pro Stock scoop to the Duster hood when I was doing the Project 6 Pack Road Runner body work
