'Rest on your laurels' means that you get lazy or complacent about what you could achieve because you're too busy basking in the memories of former glories, sounds like the way the Post Office operates these days.

The Post Office just keeps getting better and better. Sold one of may spare kits on eBay for what I paid for it. After eBay fees and all it was a loss. Post office says they delivered it but they buyer says he never got it. Whether it was mis-delivered or stolen off their porch who really knows. After an investigation the PO sends an apology letter admitting they screwed up but doesn't take any responsibility for the missing package. Their advice is to contact the company he bought it from they will understand and send you another. So the PO expects others to pay for their mistakes. You would think the least they could do is refund the shipping they charged. 😤
