Another new "PayPal" scam via email...

Daily thing for me. Latest I've seen is a text from E-Zpass saying I have an overdue bill. Instructs you to log into a bogus website. -
Arts and crafts are on Tuesday afternoon and bingo is on Wednesday the woman at the head of the room exclaimed, I turned on heel as I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Starting to have second thoughts about this old bird. It slipped off my lap one day last week and when it hit the floor it broke off the right rear corner and the left front corner. I was able to pick up the pieces and repair the damage but it got me to thinking that the body seems rather fragile. You can usually drop a body 2 feet and it doesn't break like this. Then to add to this I was going through the stash over the weekend and I found I had two more '67 birds. Once I saw them I remembered them, one I build years ago and painted with Testors out of the can. Paint job sucked so I stripped it. For some reason I didn't strip the hood. Other is a builder I picked up at a show at some point that has the custom bumpers on it. Put the painted one into the drink this evening and the lone hood. See how they come out and I might rethink my path on this build. Another issue that makes me think the jump might be the way to go is I can't get the dash and front seats out of the promo interior. Whatever AMT glued things in with is exceptionally stubborn. Stay tuned...

Greg is it my imagination or was the majority vote against the slanted "B" pillars on your other 36 Ford build.🤔 But then again Jim hasn't chimed in so maybe that will tip the scales🤣
-
Bob, that's a reasonable hypothesis. As for the ones on there now they are going to stay, too far into this build to sand them off now. Besides, the engine in the original car was a 390 so either badge would be incorrect.

Thanks guys, I think the blue will really pop once I get some clear on it. Fingers crossed I don't bugger it up before then. -
That's right Mike. I may even try to do the same lights on a Falcon and see how they look. Thanks Jim, I think I lucked out by the fact they fit so well. That's the way I'm leaning David. Picked up a bunch of styrene strips thinking of making the rails with them. I need to mock up the suspension parts on the chassis and see how it looks.

While I haven't posted anything about the Del Rio Wagon in a while work has been going on in the background which basically has been planning and buying parts. The sink marks on the top front of the fenders have been rectified. Although hard to see in the pictures. Next was trying to sort out the taillights. The real McCoy has 61 Ford Starliner taillights but that's not what I'm going with. For decades (yes you heard me right) I've had this little taillight floating around on my desk/workbench. Anyone know what it's from. Hint, it's AMT early 60's I decided I was going to use this instead but with a twist. I made a mold of the taillight and cast the outer chrome ring in translucent red and the center taillight section is white. And this is how it looks on the wagon. Engine was going to be a Boss 429 right from the start and I picked up one from Iceman Collections. It's going to need a little bit of work. Chassis on the 1:1 is an Art Morrison. This is going to need a bit of work as well. Picked up an AMT 39 Wagon Rod which comes with an Art Morrison chassis. That is the one on the right with the Del Rio chassis on the left. The AM chassis is narrower overall so as it stands it clearly doesn't fit the Rio. Not sure yet if I'm going to just use the front and rear of the chassis and fabricate new rails for the center. Or if I should just start from scratch and make the whole chassis and just add the front and rear suspension. Or adapt the suspension to the stock chassis. Jury is still out at the moment and they just ordered dinner for the night, it doesn't look like it will be a quick decision. Hopefully by next time we have some more of this sorted out. See ya then. As always comments welcome.

Found some time to get back to the Vette. Initially I was going to paint this one black but as I did a black car last year I wasn't set on that color. Started going through my paint collection to see if I had something suitable and finally settled on this Createx Pearlized Blue for no other reason then I haven't done anything else in blue of late. So despite the ice outside I was able to lay down some paint this afternoon. This is what we have after three coats of paint. Now this paint dries satin so it will need a clearcoat on top. But before that I'm going to BMF the emblems and add a couple more coats of paint. Also the headlights I cast in clear will be added before the final coats with the lenses masked off. Fingers crossed that plan actually works. -

Be that as it may Shelby only delivered six Convertibles to Ford in 1966 and you now have two of them, how did you manage that.😁

Terms on the contract got harder and harder to read as I got to the bottom of the document as they kept making the print smaller and smaller until it disappeared completely.
