  1. Looking forward to this one! My favorite Chevy, together with a NASCAR legend.
  2. Great model and photos. That would have taken some guts to run flat out on the salt!
  3. Extremely well done, and a nice history lesson to boot. I would respectfully disagree that the roadster is only half as pretty.
  4. I'm going to have to try your paint method, that really came out well.. Nice looking model.
  5. I know you messed up the emblem because it's a Bowtie ! Great job as usual, your paint and foil work is outstanding.
  6. X2. Another stunner from your bench.
  7. I like it! Just a dab of clear red on the taillights would really finish it off.
  8. I always liked the Magnum, but apparently not enough others did to keep it alive. That thing is sinister in black, very nice work.
  9. That's cool, looks mean in black!
  10. Decals won't adhere to a flat finish, they need a smooth, glossy surface to stick well. Therefore you need to spray the red first, then lay down a gloss coat before applying decals. Some folks then put another coat of clear over the decals to seal them but I never have. If you decide to, test first to make sure the clear your using is compatible with the decals. Just a thought, you may want to tackle something a little simpler than the #24 for practice. That is not an easy scheme to complete, FWIW.
  11. Just goes to show, never throw anything away! Great model, I wish someone would do this one in styrene.
  12. I did a #24 using fluorescent red, it's flat so you'll need to clear coat it after so the decals will stick.
  13. That is awesome, great detailing. Your WIP was very informative.
  14. Or Woody Hayes! I really like this, always like seeing the lower trim models being replicated.
  15. LOL I'll have to keep that in mind! It's been a long time since high school French class, I'll have to do some i'net research
  16. Thank you Harry. I know you don't do 1/24 but there are some interesting subjects in these old Heller kits. I have the Delahaye (as well as the fire engine), a 540K Mercedes, and the blower Bentley on the shelf. There are others I'm looking to snag on eBay.
  17. Thanks Dann, yes they are decals. They were very old so I coated them with Microset before application.
  18. Thanks Matt! The front fenders fit pretty well, it was the hood that gave me fits. The chrome strip down the middle is too thick and wouldn't let the hood sit on the cowl correctly. There was some pain and suffering (and bad language) before I got it to fit, kinda. Good to know about the Delahaye, I have that one in the pile for the future.
  19. My first attempt at a Heller kit, I must say I'm impressed. Aside from the multi-piece body and the odd molded-in-clear interior panels it went together pretty well. Not a huge number of parts but the engine is fairly detailed, especially the carbs, and the working steering is quite in scale. I've got some more of these in the stash for the coming months. Comments welcome, thanks for looking.
  20. My second Moebius Hudson, aftermarket decals - I can't remember where I got them. I really love this kit, it goes together so well. Comments welcome, thanks for looking.
  21. Great model! You need to do a companion convertible to show off that outstanding interior work! These used to be everywhere back in the day.
  22. Looks like you wrestled it into submission Nice work!
  23. That is welcome news that it's not a repop of the Smer kit. Looking forward to this one.
