Wow!! Nice looking car! I have the same kit on the bench and I am using the same decals from Mike's (Powerslide I think). I forgot to attach the tail light covers before paint so will have to do them later. Did you do yours (taillight covers) in red, silver or Petty Blue?

I think it is a novel solution. Better than helping AI determine what frames have a motorcycle or school bus in them everytime you post. The longest I've waited for a post approval is maybe 8 hours whilst wearing my rookie stripes! ? Nice place - ya gotta keep it that way. Steve

@Hi-Po Thanks! It is AFV Club. AFV35S16 I think. Nice kit but the hood gap on the sides seemed a bit much. Has an engine too, but once the flags are on the front removing the hood will eventually break them. I think I ultimately glued the hood in place.

Here is my build of General Patton's command car in 1/35 scale. It was my first endeavor with plastic wheel/tire assemblies. Truth. I've noticed the blister packs you buy off the pegs are missing all the window detail that is still found in the licensed boxed 1/64. Maybe if I find some good decals in this process I'll detail a few more. One of the decal sheets I ordered shows wheel and tire details - but oh so small. We'll see how this goes! Steve

Ok, these came in last week. I think they look great together. I so want to do a wash on the 18 wheeler's wheels - they lack depth as new. Just wouldn't want to mess them up though. Actually the grill needs a black wash too.

Added the contrast color to the white one. Planning to paint the window nets, seats and dash on these as well.

"That time Dale Sr. ran a Ford". Another Dale Earnhardt build from my garage. Aftermarket decals. Sanded off the door guard strips and re-radiused the front wheel arches. Just decals over paint. Tamiya TS-16 and TS-93. It was a tough one, especially stuffing the tires under the fenders and getting a decent stance on it. Thanks for looking! Steve

Here are a couple detail shots. Nothing fancy going on here. I especially liked how the aftermarket foil hood pin decals laid down over the molded hood pins on the kit's hood. Maybe one day I'll do another body with the full aftermarket decal set (Winston and Bud contingency stickers included) but for now I am pleased with it. R, Steve

One of my first NASCAR builds after 35 years. My only regret was using the "sanitized" decals in the box. I tried to match the wheels to the pictures at the end of the race, one all black, one red striped, and two yellow striped. 1/24 Revell kit. I'll try to get some engine and chassis shots to add. Not sure if this WIP is NASCAR or diecast - we'll try it here. Strangely, through Dale Earnhardt Sr. I find myself following a NASCAR driver after a 23 year hiatus. Lately I have been collecting Hailie Deegan's trucks in 1/64. Found some decals for a couple of trucks I couldn't buy, so I decided to do a couple repaints. Started with these: Post strip... And primed... And post paint. Just awaiting arrival of the decals. The yin and yang contrast of white and black.

Howdy. My name's Steve and I build model cars from time to time. I am in my mid 50s. I have kind of a shop on my bench where there are at least two or three projects going at any one time. I've got an affinity for older NASCAR projects (quit following the sport after Dale passed, until just recently anyway) and enjoy classic muscle cars, dragsters and hot rods. I have been known to build trucks and actually planes and ships too. My favorite part of the process is when the car is fresh out of paint and ready for decals. Anyway - love y'all's work and hope to learn a trick or two going forward. Steve
