  1. A new kustom krusiers series huh? Who would like to see this reissued shortly as another series member? This kit had a ton of cool high perf FE parts in it.
  2. According to Chris’s review of the kit, it does include the correct FE and C6. The six cylinder I showed is from the 1/2 ton short bed 2-wheel drive version but also drops into the LWB trucks. Sorry for the confusion.
  3. Pegasus hobbies in SoCal still has the OOP Model King/Moebius 1966 short wheel base F100 for the price of an in production kit. Great service, great price. Thanks to them my Moebius F-series collection is now complete.
  4. The 1/2 ton 2-wheel drive long bed versions in the series include a correct C6.
  5. That’s a really nice rendition of that engine. Much better detail than the kit supplied six. With a little effort the flaws in the kit supplied six can be corrected.
  6. It is an FE which was available in a half ton F series so yes, it’s correct.
  7. Cool, thanks. They look just like the Ford sport wheel covers from that era.
  8. According to the original sales brochures, an FE was optional on the 67 to 72 half-ton F series. The manual top-loader or the C6 but not the C4 included in the kit would also be correct with an FE. https://www.oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/FMC Trucks-Vans/dirindex.html
  9. HPIGUYS has a video out with the kit test shots and it looks amazing. I note there are both 2 and 4 wheel drive front wheels and rear springs included and also note the grille is for a ‘71 not a ‘72 as shown on the box. Shades of the plow truck. Speaking of the plow truck wouldn’t the substitution of the front push bar with the plow assembly look neat? My plans for this kit involve an unused brush fire truck bed from an old MPC Chevy C-10 kit.
  10. Great! I’ll post a brief tutorial in the pickup truck WIP topic.
  11. That’s a great looking build. May I ask where you got the wheels from?
  12. Thanks DJ. This is actually a second chance redo of a kit I built when I was a teenager in the 70’s.
  13. Thanks Carl! I’ll try and finish her up in the next week or so.
  14. Great to hear! If you or anyone you know ever scraps an old PC or printer, be sure to hang on to the screws. They’ll come in handy more than once.
  15. Thanks Bill. It’s been my dream F-100 since I was a teenager and the stout daily driver vibe was exactly what I was after.
  16. Thanks Tim! You motivate me to get her out of paint jail and on the shelf.
  17. Thanks Dennis! It’s been one of my favorites since I was a teenager.
  18. Thanks David. I always love recycling parts from long ago scrapped builds and this pairing seemed to be a natural.
  19. I’ve always admired Tamiya’s JDM version of this kit but never bought it because I preferred the N/A model which forced me to be content with the old Revell kits. I’m really happy I waited for an N/A version with Tamiya’s world class quality and attention to detail.
  20. This is the classic AMT ‘53 F100 sitting on lowered stock suspension, widened steelies and stock center caps. I used two small machine screws to eliminate the exposed metal axle in front. The engine and trans are the 351 Windsor and C6 from the pink Revell pro-street T-bird sitting on scratch made mounts. The intake manifold is from the early 90’s AMT F-150 and the carbs are from the AMT ‘68 roadrunner. I chose these and painted them black to simulate dual Holley sniper EFI TB’s. The exhaust pipes are round stock and the mufflers are from the AMT pro-street ‘69 GTX. I’m fabricating the rest of the exhaust system to exit through the notches below the front of the bed and into vertical stacks mounted to the back of the cab. Color will be gloss Tamiya X-5 green lighted with a little white.
  21. I’ve found some of the flaws like the rear ride height and front track width on these kits are pretty easy to correct. If anyone is interested, I’d be happy to share how I did it. It’d sure be nice to get a couple of sets of those nice new 1/2 ton correct center caps.
