  1. Thanks Dennis! It’s been one of my favorites since I was a teenager.
  2. Thanks David. I always love recycling parts from long ago scrapped builds and this pairing seemed to be a natural.
  3. I’ve always admired Tamiya’s JDM version of this kit but never bought it because I preferred the N/A model which forced me to be content with the old Revell kits. I’m really happy I waited for an N/A version with Tamiya’s world class quality and attention to detail.
  4. This is the classic AMT ‘53 F100 sitting on lowered stock suspension, widened steelies and stock center caps. I used two small machine screws to eliminate the exposed metal axle in front. The engine and trans are the 351 Windsor and C6 from the pink Revell pro-street T-bird sitting on scratch made mounts. The intake manifold is from the early 90’s AMT F-150 and the carbs are from the AMT ‘68 roadrunner. I chose these and painted them black to simulate dual Holley sniper EFI TB’s. The exhaust pipes are round stock and the mufflers are from the AMT pro-street ‘69 GTX. I’m fabricating the rest of the exhaust system to exit through the notches below the front of the bed and into vertical stacks mounted to the back of the cab. Color will be gloss Tamiya X-5 green lighted with a little white.
  5. I’ve found some of the flaws like the rear ride height and front track width on these kits are pretty easy to correct. If anyone is interested, I’d be happy to share how I did it. It’d sure be nice to get a couple of sets of those nice new 1/2 ton correct center caps.
  6. Thanks Trevor. Are you a fan of only the Lotus mark or of all the classic British legends?
  7. Let’s see a ‘58 or ‘59 Chevy step or fleet side, a ‘70 Pontiac GTO, a Ford GT-40, a 289 Cobra, a mid 1940’s Ford pickup, a series of ‘34 Ford street rods along the lines of Revell’s ‘32s, a series of 60’s vintage British or Italian roadsters. Any opportunity to replace crappy, worn out ancient kits with fresh new tools like Revell did with two dazzling new ‘71 Mustangs would be fantastic. I completely agree and I can’t wait to see what else Revell has in store for this tool.
  8. What about these guys from the Ford camp?
  9. This is an ancient build of an old Monogram snap-tite kit that I thought was way better than the old MPC kit. I’d love to get another chance at a redo.
  10. I never thought I’d see the day these things would generate any renewed interest. I’m glad I hung on to them!
  11. No T-top Camaro body means I’m mothballing my original and waiting for the repop. I also forgot that Camaro kit came with a sweet set of BBS cross lace style wheels that look like they’re still included. Revell has really outdone themselves on that Blazer tool and I’ll definitely be adding one to my stash, but I still can’t help thinking there are loads of other more desirable subjects that sizable tooling budget could have been better spent on.
  12. Great, thanks for the heads up.
  13. Welcome Damien. It’s exciting to see the hobby gaining international interest. Please share your builds soon.
  14. Thanks Rooster. My wife probably wishes there was a plastiholics anonymous she could send me to.
  15. Thanks Bob. USAF veteran here too. Love the content on you YouTube channel.
  16. Thanks Tim. And thanks again for commenting on my build.
  17. Thanks Carl! It’s great to be a part of such an involved community.
  18. No doubt! I’m thrilled to see the hobby doing so well today. Now if we can just convince more young people to swear off the electronics and join us.
