  1. Thanks so much Mario!
  2. Thanks so much Stuart it was my pleasure. It’ll definitely stretch your patience but you won’t be disappointed in the outcome.
  3. Thanks Nigel! It’s a really superb kit! Oh that every kit could be tooled like this one.
  4. Thanks Robert! My pleasure!
  5. Thanks Pete! Yep, the stock SU’s and air filter are included in the kit. It’ll look great either way. Be sure to post pics!
  6. Thanks Sonny!
  7. Thanks Roger!
  8. I must have posted this topic twice without realizing it. Moderators may delete this one as necessary. Thanks.
  9. Thanks Bruce. Yes, the rims and centers are separate.
  10. Alrighty then! That’s great to hear, can’t wait!
  11. This is the newly released Tamiya 240Z street custom kit built OTB in the NA market Datsun 240Z version replete with my signature body colored engine accents. As one might expect being a Tamiya kit the attention to detail, fit, and finish are other worldly. No BMF was harmed in the building of this kit. Every single bit of bright work on this car are either separate chrome plated parts or adhesive backed metal transfers. That includes the a/c vents in the dash, emblems, lock cylinders and the frames around the side marker and tail lights. The trumpets on the webers are six individual aluminum pieces. All the black bumper trim are also separate parts that had to be individually painted and assembled on to both bumpers. The lengths they went to to differentiate the jdm version from the na version are also extremely accurate right down the gages and the lettering on the under hood ID plate. The color is Tamiya X-6 orange. I highly recommend buying and building this kit but be prepared to get good at working with lots of very small parts. Thanks for looking.

  13. I buy and build just about everything kitted in 1/24 and 1/25th scale from all makers. For those who normally aren’t interested in imported kits, you need to build at least one kit from Tamiya. The quality, accuracy and fit are on another level. Look for two of my builds from Tamiya’s current lineup coming to the completed section soon.
  14. Hmmm, plastic doesn’t seem to be a priority at Round 2 at the moment.
  15. I’m still hoping for a 2wd version of either body type although it won’t be hard to kit bash it if Moebius doesn’t offer one.
  16. Don’t miss it Bill. Make sure to set aside enough time money to see everything in the vault.
  17. I just returned from LA where my son, his fiancé and myself got in an afternoon at the Petersen museum. Even though one could easily fill up multiple albums with pics of everything they had there I did get few shots of the more memorable and famous cars we saw. The Malco gasser, Buddy Baker’s Charger Daytona, an original black widow ‘57 and last but by no means least, my favorite, the Hirohata Merc. I almost fainted when I saw it. If you’re ever out there, a trip is well worth the time and cost of admission, especially if you can get into the vault. Enjoy and let me know what you think.
  18. I just got back from socal and I managed a quick visit to Pegasus Hobbies where they had this in the display case.
  19. I too, eagerly await collecting all three, however, I wonder if we’re entering a phase where it is no longer profitable for kit manufacturers to tool up complete, fully detailed kits of subjects that have not yet been kitted or versions of existing subjects that would require a substantial redesign of the tooling.
  20. That’s obviously not a Mach 1 and the test shots at the top of the thread match it so if they don’t have the licensing rights to use the movie in their product line they could still offer it as a simple ‘73 sports roof and let us modelers make the choice. Since the optional 351 CJ was a Cleveland variant, that’s most likely what’s going to be in this kit. A ‘73 Mach 1 version would only require the ram air hood and taillight panel from the 71 Mach 1 kit with a correct decal sheet. I have a shotgun powered road race/land speed version in mind using parts from all the old 90’s nascar kits I still have.
  21. I have one of my ‘67 kits mocked up OTB with some pretty wide Eagle GSC’s on the front and I don’t really have any issues with the fit. I also noticed the headlight diameter issue and I’ll probably address it by enlarging the headlight openings using the reflectors and lenses from a ‘67 Shelby GT 350 kit I’m using on another bash.
  22. Very nice builds! The problem with the front wheels being out to far is because the front half of the body on the ‘66 is considerably narrower than on the ‘67. This is still only the mock-up stage so I’ll correct it when I finally finish the build which may not be until I can afford to buy two of the current ‘66 GT fastback and another ‘67 kit. One to bash and another for the GT parts for this one.
  23. Sweet! Still no mention of which version but the parts in the test shots definitely indicate a standard sports roof non Mach or boss.
  24. Where do you see the ‘73 Mustang?
