2025 Cannonball Run - 50 years since the 1975 run.
Badge73 replied to Mattilacken's topic in Community Builds
Pictures do not do these prints justice. I want to thank Meatman for these files for the Fuzzbuster and radio, these are slick! So clean. Cannot wait to get these installed in the Skyline's interior. -
Sitting nicely, keep it up!

Great idea! I need to create myself this type of blade, I could see it being helpful in many ways. Much appreciated. -
Removing Exterior Parts - Advice Please!

Thanks Brian, that's what I was going to move towards. Seems like it might be a safer way to remove larger protrusions on the body. -
Howdy Fellas, Removing extra BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH from car bodies is not new to me, been doing it for 20 years, but I thought I would see if the gang all had better ways to do it now. I am including a picture as an example. Typical molded on emblems are easy to sand down, but what are you doing for those stubborn, larger parts? That emblem with the "S" in the middle protrudes at least 2.5mm from the body and would typically take me a gazzilion passes with sandpaper. Now, I suppose we could use a flat tipped xacto and get under it more, but then we risk damaging the body and having to use filler. Any ideas are welcomed! Regards, Zack

Love the display, great way to show all those gems.

Awesome, thanks Brother! Glad you're back, hope you were on vacation or doing something fun. This will for sure be the next kit in my stash. Are you almost finished with yours?

Interior is on fire my friend, excellent work - lot's of attention to detail on this one.

Turned out great, love the mash up. Color is a nice match and it all really pops.

Let's begin... Finally ready to start in on my Cannonball Run entry and I am already starting to second guess my decisions. I purchased both the Hasegawa and Fujimi kit as I couldn't decide which one I wanted to go with for this build. Each kit has it's pros and cons, and that is what is causing me headaches. Knowing that these kits are primarily set up for curbside, I purchased a resin printed engine bay, however it will need heavily modified to match closer to the time period as well as fitment within the chassis. Upcoming Modifications(Round 1): Remove side windows as I do not want them in their up positions Hood removal and engine bay installation Install Fujimi Engine into the Hasegawa Kit Question: What is your go to tool to remove or cutout the side windows from glass?
-
Great progress pictures here, your color match was right on.
-
I would absolutely love to get my hands on this kit! However, I could buy 4 kits for the price of this one right now, yikes!
-
Yeah, I have been testing that out but the front windshield has a part down the middle, I can't match it. Thanks for the idea though.

Hey Fellas, This has been a very disappointing weekend...I am just about to wrap up my first model to post to the forum and wouldn't ya know, I lost the glass tree to my kit. I moved my workbench to a new area of my house and misplaced the glass parts, so much for keeping those safe! I reached out to good ol'Revell and I may or may not hear back for weeks. This is a common kit, so I am hoping someone can spare at the least, the front and rear windshields as well as the 4 small windows. Thanks in advance. Regards, Zack

Chang...Chang....Chang...unreal my friend. Been waiting for the finished product and you did not disappoint. Your color choice for the body was right on the money and the tires bring this thing to life. I want to open the door and get inside. You are a true inspiration to me, and probably all of us. Great work! - Zack

Bob, nice work. Loving them pipes underneath this gem.

Alright, this is great. You are right, window are thick but they don't take away from it at all. Nice work. Good color choice.
-
Everything you have done is a lot work and it shows. Do those red springs in the top right part of the tray come with that kit?

I don't think the color of this build would have mattered, this thing would be beautiful in styrene white! lol Nice work! -
Chang! You have outdone yourself, meh friend. The color on those Watanabes, unreal.
-
Nice work, this coming together nice. Scribed lines are clean and the handles are fire.
