Opened up the sealed hawk weird-ohs kit I picked up the other day and it's doubled. I've got two complete sets of parts in one kit. Is this common with these kits?

Absolutely. I try to handle what I can,those things within my control , worst-case situation sit and wait or leave. If I could have found a generator that ran on fuel oil, I would have. To be clear,not "prepper", we have outages fairly regularly where I live. almost every winter or wind storm brings down lines either on my property, or nearby. Anything over a day(10-12 hours) we take off to family or a hotel. We've had 3 day long issues a few times.

Living in a city, you probably don't have the option for an emergency generator, correct? That was the smartest decision I made with my place. Between the well pump and oil furnace, the whole house is electrically dependent.

David, there was a product called "future", an acrylic floor polish that modelers used as a clear coat, it's no longer available. I believe the replacement for that is called "quick shine". I wonder if something like that is available to you,and if it would seal the silver sharpie so I doesn't transfer or wipe off. Nice work with installing the windshield and back glass, that's the one step I'm most prone to having issues with.
