Looks great...and its my favorite year Charger!

Looks nice, Ive never painted a car pink but it seems like it looks best on cars from the '50s. I have a '57 Corvette next in line on my workbench, I will probably be boring and go with red.

Looks great! In the early 80s I was building my 1:1 Nova, project taking more time than expected, waiting on mail order parts, etc., and my brother gave me the Nova kit (kinda as a joke)...it went together nicely and I loosly based it on the real car I was building...so I've always liked that kit. And of course it was the last model I built for over 40 years as I went thru my phase of building real cars.

Revell 1969 Camaro Z28 RS in 1/25 Scale. Black on Black.

Nice car! I have a weird disorder where my brain gets distracted whenever I see a Baldwin Motion Camaro...the hood in the background makes me drool! -
Inspiring, I built that kit around 1977 and every time I see it I want to build another!

This is the Revell 1:16 scale BMW Isetta, kit went together very nice and lotsa detail. I printed my own decals for the plaid interior and aligator suitcase, other than that its box stock~

Finally added some Yenko stripes, I printed some decals...then a friend showed me some clear vinyl stickers...I decided to go with them. They have a nice glossy finish but are a little thick, and didn't lay perfectly flat on curved areas (like the body line on the hood). Overall I like the look better =)

Looks great! I always thought it was interesting how '61 and '62 Corvette styling transitioned into the boat tail look of the '63, the shape worked well on the older and C2 'vettes.

Looks great...reminds me of Marina Blue, one of my favorite GM colors from that era

1:16 scale, I think this kit came out around 1987

This is an old Testors / Italeri kit, it was a little finicky, lots of test fitting and fine tuning...one of those that you're glad when its done.

inkjet printed cloth interior...test on 1955 Mercedes Benz 300SL Gull Wing
VanGoGo replied to VanGoGo's topic in Model Cars
The cloth used started out white, seems like cotton, thin, kind of reminds me of a pillowcase material. I pretty much eye-balled the scale, I looked at pics of Benz' interiors and counted how many rows of plaid there were on a seat. I figured a 6"square would be enough material, shrank down a photo of a sample I found online (red black tartan plaid) and pieced a bunch together in Photoshop to fill the 6" square. Do a search online for "printable fabric for inkjet printers" and Im sure the ready made cloth would be easier to work with...maybe even turn out nicer? I did a quick search on 'Camaro contour fabric' and it looks like its easy to find sample pics that would work. -

I believe she just used those 'glue sticks' (kinda like a chapstick type tube of roll-on glue?) the paper peeled of easily -

my friend who did the actual printing says she uses natural fibers, and usually the thinnest material she can find, she uses a glue stick to attach a paper backing, but she said there are companies that make cloth suitable for printing which probably turn out better than hers (with a peel-off backing already attached)...but we dont have a craft or hobby store in this area so she improvises. -
Im not really up on technology, but an artsy friend of mine told me about using an inkjet printer to print on cloth?! I found the pattern I wanted online, in photoshop I scaled it down and pieced together the size i needed, she glued the cloth to a sheet of paper and ran it thru her printer...came out nice! I used spray adhesive and glued it to the seats, and think it turned out pretty cool. Not sure if this is old technology you've been doing for years... but new to me, thought I would share. I included a 'before' shot and a picture of the 'guinea pig'

Thank you, I looked at your car before I started mine, and can appreciate all the work you put into it. It did take a bit of filing on the doors and body seams to get them nicer...maybe thats why I got lazy and didnt cut up the body XD. I decided to 'pin' the front bumper, so holes have been drilled and glue is drying, (it seemed like the bumper really had no support if I just glued it to the body as the kit suggested). It does look 'sportier' without the bumper, but they look nice on the car.

Just a few minor details left, but took pics because today is such a nice day outside. This is an old Revell Kit from 1977, took a little TLC get stuff to fit, one thing that was really disappointing about this kit is the split body with an upper and lower half...which creates unsightly seams. I give props to those who properly fix this by cutting the lower body section from the pan, then attach it to the upper body section and fill the seams...but I just didn't have it in me to put that much work into this kit. I 'made' some custom 'benz wheels' from my parts stash, and other than that pretty much box stock. enjoy~ EDIT: I added a couple pics with the front bumper, and an engine shot~

From what I've read it was originally tooled by Renwal in the 60s, re-issue by Revell 1977. It's getting close, should be posting some pics soon.
