  1. Ohhhhhh - a new build of yours! How exciting! I can't wait to see another masterpiece come together! Also, I never heard of metal infused resin before! Interesting!
  2. So, I started collecting parts for my next project for the showrod site that I'm a member of - I was thinking of combining this... With some 3d printed tyres like this... To make something like this! No build pics yet - I just got home and the kit was here waiting for me - but I'm excited about the idea! Drop it as far as possible, put some wide tyres on there, add a snowplow (because you GOTTA have a theme, right?), keep the 4 wheel drive and the stock Willys engine (but add a big blower or something to up the power output some)...it'd be a fun thing to drift around on a snowy day! Off to read the instructions and look over the parts!
  3. Ohh, interesting! I don't have both here to compare them, but interesting to know! Thanks Art! Keep us posted on your build!
  4. Oh wow - another Art Anderson build! I always LOVE your work - one of my favourite builders! Funnily enough, I just picked up the Italeri Willys Jeep keep which looks near identical to your pics - I wonder if theyre the same kit badged differently? I'll be watching!
  5. Oh wow, I'm so glad this got bumped! What a GREAT build! I love the look of it, great custom bodywork!
  6. What a great looking build so far! Your scratchbuilding skills are truly something to be admired. Cant wait to see more!
  7. What a great looking build! Good job! I actually like the wheels from the mock-up, although I might be in the minority...
  8. I've been having some real fun messing with 3D modelling this weekend - using the tools Shapeways recommends to design some custom sized tyres that were hard to find... And a simple display board stand to paint and put next to a finished model: It was surprisingly easy to do - and they're printing them today and they should arrive in the next week or so! I'm really excited - it opens up some cool new possibilities.
  9. I LOVE seing the CAD pics! I just started learning CAD because there are some parts that I want that would be difficult to scratchbuild and relatively easy to 3d print - if only I can figure it out, anyway. Your work is really inspirational - too cool! Thanks for sharing! Love this build so far, it's looking great!
  10. I have a buddy in the UK who asked me about sending some plastic parts to me so I could get them chrome plated by someone here - but the postage would be quite expensive and there's a decent chance of them getting lost in the mail... Do any of our English members here know of a chrome plating service for model parts that I can recommend to him? I figured someone here might have an idea of who's good...
  11. That Deucedsel even has fuel in the lines!
  12. I wish we had one in Manhattan - these cheap deals everyone is posting about are killing me!
  13. I loved the work you did on the rear end there - too cool!
  14. Oh wow! What a cool build! I love how it's turned out!
  15. Looks gorgeous so far! The paint and interior look great! What do you need to do next?
  16. Looks gorgeous! The interor is really nice in particular! What color did you use for the interior?
  17. Most boring looking muscle car I ever saw
  18. Great insight, thanks Misha! Me too! Can't beat a Deuce! I wouldn't mind one of those MPC 32 sedans either, I've seen a few on eBay but they're usually more than I can justify
  19. Oh dude, that SUCKS. Those mats are TERRIBLE for doing that, even on completely cured paint. I HATE those things now!
  20. I heard that there's an international conspiracy to do with the boxes and that someone in China doodled on the box art so they couldn't color copy the boxes anymore. It's a secret tho
  21. That's a cool build! But $1100 - wow! That's a big investment! Cool though, like I say, I love these little 500s!
  22. There's a good store called Jan's on 96th (the east side) that has some plastic kits on the shelf too - the owner is kinda cranky but they have some cool stuff sometimes!
  23. The Michaels in Manhattan (Avenue of the Americas) stocks a few kits and paint and glues...worth a look if you're nearby!
  24. I was always kinda interested in this kit too, but Lord only knows what this thing actually looks like inside the box
  25. I picked up a couple of those kits to build the racecar versions of this kit - as you correctly state they don't feature the parts shown on the box. Would've been cool if they did! Still a good source for this kit though, until we see a reissue!
