  1. Just got done shooting primer on the 57 Fairlane, I debadged the hood, trunk, and fenders so no markings of Fairlane 500, shot primer on the interior tub, front seat, and dash, all done in Pink Primer due to color wife wants. I got my TT motor put in primer, so I can now start the detailing on the exhaust/turbo's and all that jazz and then put it together. Once that is done then it's the big part of modifying the engine bay for the 47 to make it fit like it belongs. Once that is done and sitting nice, then ride/wheels, and body and all that jazz.
  2. No allowance here, but grew up on a farm, so when I worked in the hayfield, or loaded hay in the winter for our landlord, or cut firewood and stacked it for my uncle, I spent it on 3 things all the time: Models and supplies Crochet stuff, yarn and needles Books Now the "allowance" is model stuff, painting stuff, video games, stuff for my pick up, fishing bits and bobs, books .. lots of books.
  3. Welcome aboard!
  4. Amazing... I can smell the cigarette smoke, and old bacon grease! Incredible!!

  6. Good tip! Especially for visibility!
  7. Here is the finish on this @slusher
  8. Thanks Carl! I did step out of my straight forward build and took that first step into a custom. I felt it went well, and will be doing a bit more custom stuff, I do plan soon to do my first chop later on.
  9. I should be able to start on the priming of the body this weekend. Thanks! And look forward to participating!!
  10. I brush small stuff, and spray everything else. I like my fine primer's as they don't obscure details.
  11. That is amazing and so glad that he shares them with the rest of us!
  12. Thanks Ken! I did get it wrapped up and it's over in Under Glass now.
  13. So when I got back to building, I had 2 kits going, one was for a build off, and the other was what I wanted, then I saw another kit, and started on it. But, then life got in the way... Selling a house, moving, remodeling house... then work got in the way, all my stuff still packed up, then wife decided to take the shop so I got my hobby room. Roll forward 2 years, after work and life interuptions, I got back to them. I finished them up and managed to do another 4 kits behind them since I have decided to do a self imposed .. 1-2 hrs of bench time a week and not let things fester for months at a time when I am not traveling for work. Otherwise, they would sit and sit and sit. I do still build 2-5 kits at a time, but it let's me keep things fresh and if I run into a road block on one I can do something different and figure out the road block while not working on that road block issue.
  14. The Testor's kit that has 10 or so bottles of enamel, before I discovered Tamiya, and other brands. But I do like the Orange spinner been handy for other bits and bobs.
  15. Still sealed, this is my entry into the Cannonball Run! As you can see .. it's got space for all the cannonballs!
  16. So I found the information.... Gonna throw my hat into the arena, will post a box shot once I get back to my bench. I have 4 months to build, I should be ok on time!
