  1. Is there a kit or an aftermarket resin caster that has a two-four barrel intake manifold that would fit the engine in the Revell '57 Chevy black widow kit? I don't need the air cleaners, just the intake manifold. Thanks, Jameston
  2. No, there not too bad. I got mine from modelexpress.net for $20.98. They are on page three of the specials section. I carry the paint on my website.
  3. Got this done over the weekend. It's the Revell of Germany Jagermeister Porsche 956C. Overall it's a nice kit if not a little simplified, it really only works out to be an interior with a drivers seat, a flat bottom chassis, and a body with a wing. I put the decals on top of the Jagermeister orange paint, and clear coated over them. The old bottle of clear I used oranged peeled badly, but I was afraid of cutting throught the clear into the decals so I just left it a little flat. The decals are nice and glossy, and they go on easily, so they should have been put on over the clearcoat. Quick to build and good looking when built, I actually recommend this kit. 4. Okay, the interior is done as well as the chassis, and the decals are on. A few details remain, but I'll have it done tonight. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  5. Thanks, It looks better in sunlight, and in person. It's a great kit, and I really recommend it. No spray cans, unfortunately that deal fell through. Jameston
  6. John, Welcome back into the hobby. It looks like you have everything in order, but I would recommend a quart of cheap lacquer thinner from Lowes/Home Depot to clean the airbrush. The best advice I can give you for practicing the airbrush is to use plastic spoons. Plastic spoons are made from styrene and crazy cheap, so if you can try out a number of primers and paints on them without sacrificing any good kit parts if the paint reacts badly to styrene. Plus the spoons are just the right size for sample sprayouts to see what your paint color is going to look like. I hope this helps, Jameston
  7. This is the new Ferrari California from Revell of Germany. I was recently at my local Ferrari dealer asking about paint colors, and we were talking about how Ferrari will paint you car ANY color you want. I asked if Ferrari would use a custom paint formula, and the salesman assured me if it was a real paint color they could paint a car in it. So here it is, my California painted in "Rat Roaster green" it's from the TV show Gearz. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Interior is beige with the hard surfaces painted in Ferrari Argento Metallic as are the wheels. Hosted on Fotki Engine is aluminum and the intake and valve covers are Rosso Corsa. Hosted on Fotki Thanks for looking, Jameston
  8. This is the Jagermeister Porsche from Revell of Germany. Everything is cleanly molded, and there are not a lot of parts. So far everything has gone together great. I plan on having this finished by Monday. Here is the body fresh from the paint booth wearing Jagermeister orange. I'll decal it then spray the clear. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  9. Everything here is from the Revell of Germany Ferrari California (open top) Kit# 07276, I don't know if this affects the closed top kit. Step 25 of the instructions show part# G41 being installed so the face is strait up. Hosted on Fotki The part should be glued in so the face is facing away from the firewall. Hosted on Fotki The dash sits over part G41 when the interior is complete. Hosted on Fotki I hope this helps, Jameston
  10. Okay, I got this finished. Revell '49 Mercury custom. I took the drip rail off and added the baby moons, but otherwise it's built strait out of the box. This is a very well engineered kit and has very little flash or sinkmarks. Even with the separate frame everything lined up and all four wheels are on the ground. The body is painted in Nissan LAC Ultimate black opal. It's the color used on the Spec-v GT-R. Interior is Ferrari Rosso red. I did have to paint the whitewall on the kit tires. Hosted on Fotki The engine is Chevrolet Coronado gold, and Pure white. Hosted on Fotki Even has a Jbot decals custom plate, and clear Caddy taillights. Hosted on Fotki Thanks for looking.
  11. Here's a little tip on how to make a whitewall tire. First you need three supplies. 1. White acrylic paint. DO NOT use enamels they will not dry. 2. Circle template. 3. Airbrush. Hosted on Fotki Just center the tire in the appropriate sized circle. Hosted on Fotki Thin the acrylic paint with regular tap water until it's the consistency of 2% milk, then hold the tire tight to the circle template, and lightly airbrush the sidewall with light coats of paint until the sidewall is completely covered. 12. Thank you for all the responses, I just got this car finished and posted in the under glass section. I did not get any spraycans that deal fell through, and the only place I can get the cans from are very expensive. There is a whitewall tutorial in the tips and tricks section. Thanks again.
  13. The Ferrari red is from Scalefinishes.com (my website) It's an interior color. I didn't realize that I hadn't posted the body color. It's Nissan LAC Ultimate Black Opal, it's used on the GT-R SpecV. Thank you.
  14. It's coming together, and looking great. I got the chassis done. The exhaust needs tips, but they will be added after the body is mounted. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki The interior is done. The dash and steering wheel are painted in the same Peterbilt red as the wheels. The pin striping is another decal from the kit. Hosted on Fotki The body needs a few more things, but will be done this weekend.
  15. Got some work done on the interior, finished the engine, and figured out my wheel situation! The interior is Ferrari Rosso red with a black carpet. The firewall has the "heat shield" in place. Hosted on Fotki The engine is ready to run. Hosted on Fotki The wheels are the kit chrome steels Dechromed and painted Peterbilt flame red Metallic. The tires have the whitewall painted on them. Hosted on Fotki Thanks for looking.
  16. I have, twice, and they are awesome! Their customer service is great, and their prices are good. Highly recommended from me.
  17. Okay, I got the body painted, sanded, and polished. The"Pinstripes" are the decals from the kit. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki I'm still looking for the right wheels.
  18. Thanks guys, I got the motor pretty much built, I'm just waiting for the paint on the detail parts to dry. The engine and trans are Chevy Coronado gold. The exhaust, fan, and pulleys are pure white. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  19. It's the Revell 49 Mercury custom. I've had the kit for a few years now, and finally got a start on it. The car is going to be built mostly box stock. I did remove the drip rail, and plan on using different wheels. Here is what has been done so far: Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Thank you for looking.
  20. Ed: After a bit of snooping around online. It looks like the difference in colors is minimal at best. Brian: It looks like (using the MCW numbering system) the T70 & GS color is the '60 Cadillac Pelham Blue, and the Mecom Scarab color is the '59 Argyle Blue. The non Mecom scarabs are '56 Cadillac Bahama Blue. Here are pics of a Cadillac painted in the Argyle Blue. http://www.modelcarsonline.com/Galleries/G...o%20Hardtop.htm
  21. Try this site: http://www.blogcatalog.com/blog/auto-resto...5cbfcd9a88cc6be Hope that helps.
  22. Were the Lola T70s and the GS Corvettes a different color from the Mecom scarab? I have the GS & T70 referenced as 1960 Cadillac Pelham Blue.
  23. I have the video at Scalefinishes.com, and as soon as I get them back in stock, the price will only be $20 W/free shipping.
