How selling the collection has been going
Scalefinishes replied to Lyn's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
How about a link to some of the Ebay stuff? I would really like to see what you have for sale. Thank you, Jameston -
Okay, I finally had a break in the rain long enough to let me snap some pics. Seriously, if it rains any more in Utah I'm going to have to start building boats. So much for living in the desert. Here they are! The Revell Bullitt Mustangs! Hosted on Fotki Here is just the 2008. Scalefinishes Highland Green, with the required Black interior. The wheels are painted Testors Graphite metallic. Hosted on Fotki Here is just the 1968. Once again Scalefinishes Highland green, This time in a Gloss acrylic enamel. Also with a black interior. I used both kit mirrors. When I researched the real car, the use of both square mirrors was strongly suggested because of visibility issues on the real 68 fastbacks, and I wanted this kit to represent what a good 1:1 build would be like. The wheels are Testors Metalizer Gunmetal. Hosted on Fotki Thanks for looking. Jameston

I found this, and wanted to share. The prices seem on par with what you can get from the hobby shops/websites. But the selection is great, and the shipping is only $4.95. http://www.craftflocking.com/index.php?pr=Home_Page Hope this helps. Jameston

Cars you wished that was in 1/24

I would like to see a newer F150. A nicely molded/detailed Jaguar Etype would also be okay. IMHO Jameston -
mountaindewd builds
Scalefinishes replied to mountaindewd's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
The oval mesh would work on fords also. I'm thinking it would be perfect for a few custom Mustangs! I'd buy a few sheets. Jameston -

60's and 70'a Ford Experts...

I have the Ford colors but not in spray cans (yet). That "Metallic Blue" looks allot like Ford Viking Blue used on the cobra. http://allthingscobra.tripod.com/imagelib/...;target=tlx_new Jameston -
Bullitt Question
Scalefinishes replied to dwc43's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Per http://www.ponysite.de/bullitthowto.htm The Bullitt Mustang had a Black leather wrapped 1967 Shelby GT steering wheel. Jameston -
I got the UHP decals, and light bar from Policecarmodels.com Bill Bozo makes a great decal sheet. There are enough decals to build at least 20 cars on the sheet. The decals were put on the car in the same fashion as the real Camaro that UHP has. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Thanks for looking. Jameston

Thanks for the heads up. I got my DVR set. Jameston -
What year is that car? If it is older than 1991 it looks like Astral silver (OEM paint Code DB735). 1992 and newer, it would be Brilliant Silver (Paint Code DB744) If you use an airbrush, I can get it for you. If not. Try a parts store for touch up paints. Or try http://www.towerpaint.com/ http://www.expresspaint.com/ http://www.paintscratch.com/ Hope this helps. Jameston

Scaleing down the "color"?
Scalefinishes replied to FujimiLover's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Some silver and grays use a pretty large flake, and can be a little noticeable on a model car. The problem is that the flake size is a part of how the color looks. Change the flake size and you end up with a different color. Pearls are so fine that they really won't be an issue. I have never "scaled" a paint color with darkening/lightening them. IMHO, The 24th cars are big enough that the color shift is unnoticeable. Hope this helps. Jameston -
I personally use SEM 39133 Flexible Primer Surfacer-Aerosol. It's a light gray and sticks to plastic like glue, completely safe, WILL NOT craze the plastic. Another recommendation is Plasti-Kote primers, T-235, T-236 and T-237. Hope this helps. Jameston

Then someone goes and builds one for real. Check this out. http://jalopnik.com/5166465/r35-%252B-m35-...ssan-gt+r-wagon Not nearly as nice in my opinion. Jameston

I would try to match the wheels to the sideblade color. Jameston

Informal poll....
Scalefinishes replied to moonlite5hadow's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm partial to the pink, the white top will look good with it. A pink Caddy is a classic! The Metallic Black would look okay, but I don't think it would match with the white trim and top. Candy red is not my color. But I think it would look good with the white if you sprayed it over a silver base. Jameston -
Ford FE 390 Information
Scalefinishes replied to Jim B's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't know if this will help but I hope it does. It's just the ignition wiring, but it's a start. http://www.boxwrench.net/specs/ford_352-428.htm Jameston -
That's awsome! Bare carbon fiber, I wonder how much weight is saved by doing that, instead of paint or a vinyl wrap? I like it. Jameston
