Jeeze Geeze, it's gawgeous!!! It's so cool that you can do your own hand painted grafix. The chop is very tastee too.

It would be a shame to see a builder of your caliber not build it! Just carefully document all its pieces so you can preserve some sort of memory of the kit and its previous owner and then get to it!

Shortened 1959 Chevy Sport Roadster.
Bernard Kron replied to E St. Kruiser50's topic in WIP: Model Cars
So glad to see this on the fast track. Once it moved into primer the proportion and stance really firmed up. The windshield frame really ties it all together. Can't wait to see this lovely thing completed! -
First try or not, those flames are tops. Love the rear bumper, too. Really cool funky ride...

How amazing! The Talbot Lago and the Kurtis Kraft were among the very first kits I ever built as a boy decades ago. I could swear that the Talbot you've built is the same kit. Are those decals on clear discs for the wire wheels? If so then it would be the same kit. I can't recall the make but it was a British curbside kit. Super simple. They also made a Lotus Eleven, an Alfetta GP car, and an Aston Martin Martin DBR2. I think the Alfa came with an engine. I built them all! You're right, sometimes it's important just to get some builds up on the shelf!

Very, very nice. The pleasure you had in making it shows through in the completed build. This funky little four door has real character. -
Raptor Hauler - A Big Truck for a Big Man
Bernard Kron replied to Raul_Perez's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Now that's real kustomizing! Shifting the front wheels forward really did the trick. The body work on the front end, particularly the fill panel extending down to the grill shell and the air dam which echoes it, is great. The picture of the Raptor and its Hauler shows that they will look terrific together when it's done. What are your plans for the back end? -
Great to see those Parts Pack builds emerging, especially the T-Bucket. This onces really sharp! Nice build!

As you add detail to the motor and paint to the body this build just looks better and better. Real sweet proportion on the chop and stance. Can't wait to see the grill setup.

'34 Ford Coupe Custom Paint Experiment Successful!
Bernard Kron replied to John Goschke's topic in Model Cars
Absolutely stunning! Perfectly compliments the lines of the car! And thanks for the description of how you did it. Worth every hour you put into it. -
Very nice. Shows off the basic elegance of the design. Lovely stance, too. Sometimes simple is best!

What great fun! Looks really clean and sharp. Great chassis details. Where do the decals come from?

Thanx Harry. You sure are a wizard with a mouse, I must say! I've never been able to relate the grip on a mouse to holding a pen or pencil in my hand.
-
Very fine. Great concept beautifully done.

Thanks for a peak at how you do it. I assume you're using a drawing pad. Do you draw the basic shape freehand or base it on photographic sources (or both)?
-
Nice! Both of them! Did you scratch build the frame and roll cage? Since you're the ultimate expert on your 1:1, how close do you think you got to building a replica of the original? B.

Looks great. The chopped windshield is real sharp. These parts really change the character of the model, especially along with the steelies, whitewalls and red primer. I've got a build going that uses the Revellogram Deuce as a basis for a true late 40's-early 50's roadster with leaf spring rear suspension. I will definitely be getting these pieces for it! B.

The old Hand-Of-God effect! Great modeling. Super stylish, full of superb craftsmanship and brilliant technical solutions. As always JayVee, you made it all look so effortless. Those who have missed out on the W.I.P. really must see what went into this truck. There's so much more to this build than these exterior shots can show.

Watch out ######'n, you're anticipating my Tudor. But since I won't be getting to it until later this Fall, you still have time to do yours! Nice skirt BTW!

'50 Ford F1 street truck (completed 8/23/08)

It's True, It's True, It's True!!! Well almost, anyway. The finished build is always the payoff we're looking for - and this one will really pay off! Super chassis, super interior, super build. On to Under Glass for the payoff! Can't wait... -
This is a quick build based on the AMT ’40 Ford Sedan Delivery. I originally bought the kit for some Nailhead Buick engine parts and ‘40 Ford bits that I’ll need for a ’29 Ford A Roadster that I’m planning for this Fall. Another build I’m planning is a ’39 Ford Tudor sedan using the AMT body adapted to the Revell Goodguys ’40 Ford Coupe chassis. This build will require some extensive customizing bodywork. Since it’s been a very long time since I’ve done any sectioning, pie-cutting, etc. I thought I’d warm up with this project. I plan to build it without an interior or engine (a “slammer) for the moment, focusing completely on the bodywork. I’ll assemble it so I can build it out as a more complete model at a later date, however. The body is sectioned approximately 2.5 scale inches just below the beltline. I also sectioned the hood the same amount. I liked the proportion of the window area to the sectioned main body but felt that there was a bit of a hump over the cargo area that needed flattening. I pie-cut the roof from a point just behind the doors tapering down to a point just in front of the of the tumble down leading to the rear cargo door. The result is a much flatter roof line. Next I removed the running boards and rolled the edges of the fenders under, filling the gaps left by the missing running boards. I removed the bumper mounts front and rear and filled in the front pan where the mounts came through and installed a small rolled pan in the rear. The grills on either side of the main grill have been shaved, smoothed and filled and the hood re-contoured to flow into this area more smoothly. Still left to do is some minor trimming and filling in the rear door area and a final clean up of the hood. Paint will be some sort of metallic two tone similar to the two tone primer in the mockup shots ( I ran out of gray primer). My goal is to have the car as a completed roller in full paint by the end of next week. Here’s a picture showing most of the areas that were cut prior to filling and sanding: (Click on picture for larger image) And here are some mockup shots in primer: (Click on picture for larger image) Thanx For Lookin', B.

Yeah, one of my favorite Hot Rod sites. Haven't been there in a while. Forgot how dripping with info it really is. And some super fine machines, too!

As others have said, Peter Lonbardo somes it up best. I would just add that this level of modeling is something every builder can strive for. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work with us!
