  1. Like I said above... 009 (space and then) 0443.
  2. I think what I did was to describe the movie incorrectly. I mistakenly said the movie is about hair bands. I probably should have said simply 80's rock music. I mean there are songs in there by Pat Benatar, The Jefferson Starship, Night Ranger, Foreigner, Twisted Sister, REO Speedwagon, Skid Row, Quiet Riot, The Scorpions, Poison, Extreme, Warrant, and Joan Jett in addition to Journey, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard etc...
  3. I have been trying to identify which kit this fret of "glass" comes from to no avail. It appears to maybe be some kind of combination kit due to the rectangular and rounded edge glass pieces on the same tree. In the lower left corner those headlight lenses have a small hole in the center. The numbers molded into the tree are 009 0443 I've searched Google using those numbers combined with Revell, Amt, etc., but nothing comes up. Anyone got any ideas? Hosted on Fotki
  4. Don't knock it till you've been to one. It's well worth $25.00!!! And so is the IPMS membership fee. The best models in the world come to the Nats! (and that would not include mine! LOL)
  5. Sitting in a chair! Now that's a great idea! The hat could easily be attached to a high back!
  6. Go here.... http://s362974870.onlinehome.us/forums/air/index.php? This is The Aircraft Resource Center Forum, the largest aircraft modeling site on the internet. Go down near the bottom to the classifieds section in the "Buy and Sell subsection and post a message as to what you are looking for there. With the thousands of airplane modelers who frequent that forum I'm sure someone will have what you need!
  7. Hi Dan... Just so ya know...I'm not some big Journey fan! But actually Journey sold more albums worldwide than Motley Crue or Def Leppard. Crue sold 50 million, Def Leppard sold 65 Million and Journey has sold 80 million...worldwide. Semantics aside I think a lot of people consider Journey as an 80's hair band. I think that popularly, that moniker is considered by the majority of people to cover all the big bands of the 80's who played good rock music! According to what I looked up Bon Jovi has sold 130 mil, GnR sold 100 mil, Whitesnake a hundred mil, Def Leppard 65 mil and Motley Crue 50 mil. That's 445 million albums! Man that's a lot of records!!!! But even all together they pale in comparison to the Beatles or MJ or Elvis! And btw...there are 2 Journey songs in the movie....
  8. I have to agree with you on the voices. In fact I said that to my son. I thought that, while they sang well, Hough's and Cruise's voices were too high. They didn't have that "edge" that real rockers have. And Diego was also too soft. Of course, IMHO, there is still no one who can sing like Steve Perry.
  9. Hope I don't get my head bitten off for this but why would you change the slicks to those? They're too wide for the time period and they're wrinkled like the car was under launch. And they're mounted backwards..like the car is launching in reverse. But other than the rear tires I love the concept of what you did. And THAT is just right for that time period!
  10. If you like 80's arena rock go see it. If not...don't go..it's ALL 80's hair band music. However, it's worth it to see it just for Julianne Hough!
  11. Matte paints then clear is the SOP in airplane building!
  12. OH MY GOD!!!!! I have so many expletive swear words for this in a good way that would get bleeped out here. This is just unbelievable! The best truck model I have ever seen in my 60 years on this planet!
  13. Cool! Too bad we can't see 'em! Got any pics of the underside?
  14. Nice. What did you do to the suspension to get it down low like that?
  15. And that's what matters the most!
  16. Thanks for the reply Michael...
  17. Close between my modeling friends and the bunch I ride bikes with. The difference is that I have to interact with 99% of my modeling friends online whereas all my biker friends are in person....
  18. LOL...I noticed that too! Looks normal to our across the pond brothers though!
  19. Art... camber is the departure in angle of a tire from vertical....not toed in or out. In other words...if you look at a tire from directly in front of the car and the tire is perfectly straight up and down...a perfect 90° ..it has 0° camber. If the top of the tire leans inward slightly, then you have so many degrees negative camber. If the top of the tire leans out you have so many degrees positive camber. Camber is not toe. Toe is the parallelism of the front tires when looking down on them from the top. If the front of the tires are leaning slightly inwards as viewed from above you have toe IN. If the front of the tires are bowed slightly outward you have toe OUT. I've done a lot of front end alignments and rake never comes into play on a car except in the fact that rake and caster are the same thing....simply the angle from vertical.. As you said, the rake term is used predominately in motorcycle front ends in conjunction with measuring trail....which has a heckuva lot to do with how the bike handles!!! Like you said.. we usually build in a very slight degree of toe IN on a front end because at speed, the front tires have a natural tendency to spread in the front...or...toe out. So with the slight built-in toe IN...at speed...the tires actually track more parallel....just like you said...but that's not camber. I've attached a few illustrations so those fellas who are interested can see a reference graphic to make it easier to understand Here's an illustration of camber. This is looking at the tires from directly in front... Hosted on Fotki And this is Toe...looking down on the tires from above... Hosted on Fotki And this is caster...looking at the vehicle from it's side. Hosted on Fotki
  20. That thick red line looks like it snakes to the rear of the engine and then through the cowl on the driver's side. Or are those just 2 separate lines? That's the one I was curious about I guess....
  21. Sure do. This is prety similar. But how to do it with the clothing....that's the quandary!
  22. If you guys think there are a lot of 32 Ford kits you ought to get a load of just how many Messerschmitt Bf109 kits there are! Astronomical!
