  1. Hmmm....does that mean you think I and all my friends who DO Facebook are unlucky?
  2. Bill...you posted some nice stuff! What's the story with that oh-so-cool stand with all the skulls and Death on top? Is that scratchbuilt or a kit? What?
  3. Some folks have called me the Gasser Nazi because of my love for accurately built gasser models. Well that may be...I dunno. But what I do know is that this one is excellent! Great job my friend!
  4. Oh yeah...this is very nice!!!!
  5. Dave...I don't know if you know it but there is a Facebook group called "Dedicated to saving the hobby of building drag racing models in 1/16 scale". You should post a few pics of this wonderful model in that group. Those guys there would love to see it!
  6. Absolutely LOVE this model!!!
  7. My Badger 150 was spitting paint a little bit screwing up some fine detail work. So I sent it off to Badger on friday a week ago. Got it back in the mail today all rebuilt. They fixed whatever it is internally and they slapped on a new tip and crown. And all at no cost for anything! Man, other companies should take a lesson here don't ya think?
  8. I have a couple of pretty large flea markets in my area and I check them every few weeks. But I hardly ever see a kit at all let alone any good deals....
  9. Well friends...you may have seen a preview of what my son and I had been working on for a while in my garage. Here it is now all done and back together. 2007 Harley Davidson Street Glide originally in Black Pearl. We replaced the stock side bags with new extended ones which had to be fairly extensively worked over to get them nice and flat. Then sprayed all 16 parts over with the Black Pearl base again. Then laid out the flames with silver base followed by a few coats of House of Kolor Kandy Tangerine. Some small skulls were airbrushed into the apex of each flame lick. Then everything was color sanded and buffed and polished. My boy TJ did all this with only a little help from me in masking, etc. I'm very proud of him! Hope you guys like! And like I said before...wish I could lay out flames like this in 1/25th scale!!! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

  14. If we knew what company it would help. I know I woud write a letter to that company to voice my support in the kit's reissue!
  15. Thanks Tommy...appreciate your efforts!
  16. Thanks for posting the pics for those of us who could not make it!
  17. You can find flubs in just about any movie ever made...just look up the movie on www.imdb.com Scroll down to "Goofs" and there they are...along with trivia, famous quotes etc. Love that site!
  18. Nice job Niko! As the others have already said...you've come a lonnng way! Now...doesn't it feel great to have a project all done that you have done your best on? Now you can look back on it someday and remember all the things you had to learn and then execute to make it come out this good. And 20 years from now if you keep it up you'll be way better than you are now...and you'll look back on this one and recall where your skills were 20 years ago!
  19.
  20. Bob...one thing about baggers is that they give you a lot of surface area to throw paint onto! Cranky...wait till these suckers have been wet sanded and buffed out. THEN they'll have some shine! Jim...sure but you're 1500 miles away! LOL Thanks guys... love doing this kind of stuff! Just wish I could do it like this in scale...
  21. Love it also! One other tip....You applied the decal onto the flat painted hood which resulted in the carrier showing through and silvering. Pretty tough to fix that now. But for your next time when you have to apply a decal over a flat surface....paint the hood (or whatever area that is flat painted) with a gloss clear first...then apply the decal...then shoot the hood with a flat overcoat like Testor's Dullcote to get the flat finish back. You can mask off the decal if you want it to stay glossy. Not with tape though as you might pull it off. Instead, use a moistened piece of coffee filter cut to fit the decal as your mask. Works great. I use this method a lot when masking decals on natural metal finish airplanes. Hope this tip helps!
