  1. Gee...makes me wonder what they could do with 4 engines today!
  2. I wonder if it will have those cool headers with the big collectors that have been deleted...
  3. Here's some great information to use as a reference when looking for just what you're looking for in this thread. It's a table listing the best places to find certain parts we've put together on StraightLineModeler. And the consensus for us is the AMT Baldwin Motion Camaro kit. HTH... http://www.straightlinemodeler.org/parts/parts.html Terry
  4. Oh...yes I was. Actually I was the "owner" of it for a years or two but I haven't been on the MCL in quite a while now...
  5. Mike...not sure I understand what you're asking here???
  6. To all of my friends here...please say a prayer or have a kind thought for the family of Trooper First Class Kenny Hall, who was killed yesterday on I-91 in Enfield. He was on a routine traffic stop, sitting in his cruiser when another vehicle plowed into the back of his cruiser killing him. Kenny came on the job in 1988 and started at Troop D, the same Troop that I started at. RIP Ken..... Terry Sumner Sgt., CSP Retired
  7. Now...THAT ..is awesome! I wish more of us (myself included) would pose our models like this... Thank you! May I make a suggestion? When you take the photo with the sparklers, maybe you could set up a fan to blow the sparks backwards? That would be ultra cool!
  8. Mike, Wrinkle wall slicks can and do wrinkle while at rest. But when they do, the wrinkles appear on both front and rear of the sidewall. When the wrinkles appear only towards the front as depicted on the Chuckwagon, they are indicative of a launch. Here's one at rest.... Hosted on Fotki And here's one under launch... Hosted on Fotki
  9. Great build my friend! I love everything about it except for the wrinkles in the slicks. The wrinkles are depicting the car as if it was under launch. Now if you had a driver in it and it was posed as if it was just leaving the starting line it'd be perfect!
  10. Good going there kiddo! Just remember one thing though....there is one major difference between auto mechanicing and deisel mechanicing....the deisel job beats the heck out of your body over the years..ask any veteran deisel mechanic!
  11. I don't know if this will help you much or not, but here's a link to a review I did of a build of that model... http://www.internetmodeler.com/2002/october/automotive/gtx.htm This was the boxing with the one that oldschool mentioned.
  12. Hey hey...I'm not old...I'm just youth deficient!
  13. Well if by chance you decide to take the ones that are on there off and you replace them, just cut off the "S" and you'll probably be close enough! )
  14. No kidding...where was it that you were able to see them build that truck?
  15. This is looking like it's really gonna be cool!
  16. Gotta go along with Brett here...you'd need a big block and a blower to run in A gas supercharged! You have 4 Webers on a small block. ( No F.I. Brett...it's carbureted)
  17. Born in Vt. but family moved to Conn. in .. ahem...ummm 1962.
  18. If you're the type who likes action flicks where a lot of stuff gets blown up and bad guys get wasted, then this is the movie for you. They must'a used 10 million dollars worth of pyrotechnics in this movie. Great flick of this genre!
  19. Another nicely put together issue. Love that 66 Chevelle! Thanks guys!
  20. To just help a bit with your photos...Just back off with the camera to model distance. You see how the wall behind the model is in good focus? That's because either your camera doesn't have a closeup setting or it does and you're not using it. Back up from the subject a foot more or so and then just crop the picture later before you send it in.. Hope this helps! ) Terry
  21. I'm not a real NASCAR fan so I might be missing something here...but what is that wire you have coming out of the thermostat hole on the front of the intake manifold. Isn't that where a radiator hose goes? Or does a NASCAR engine use something else?
  22. I believe I'll just paint mine with good old Testors gold. The kind that comes in those little tiny square bottles!
  23. Man you got that right about SNJ powder!!! LOL And thanks...I'm not a fan of rat rods either...both model AND 1:1. On an unrelated note...I had to laugh at your sig line. Something like that actually happened to me in real life. Back in 1978 or 79 I was working an overtime shift on I-84 in the East Hartford area. Alongside the highway was this mini-mall and a sign on one of the areas that said, "Something or other Health Club". Well I was heavy into bodybuilding at the time...being a young Trooper and all, so at lunch time I decided I would pay the health club a visit and see what kind of equipment they had in there to work out with. I wanted to know if they had weights and stuff or was it one of those aerobics places. Well in I go...."in uniform" (I was a Connecticut State Trooper)and what do I see? No weights, no machines, no aerobics floor mats....nope! I see good looking women lounging around some couches and chairs, all dressed in lingierie. Apparently just waiting for a guy like me to walk in wearing REGULAR clothing! The look of surprise was priceless on my face as well as theirs when a fully uniformed State Trooper walked in. I remember saying, "Ummm...this isn't a gym is it?" The "ladies" replied simply, "No it's not sir!" A quicker exit was never made! LOL
  24. Yeah I think you're right. They do look stark... Thanks Bud!
  25. Yes, they are the kit wheels. I painted the spokes a gray Metalizer (forgot exactly which one) And yes, it's a cogged blower belt. I picked that belt up at some show somewhere years ago and had it in my stash just waiting for the right blower to put it on. But danged if I can remember who it came from...sorry. And thanks for the suggestion on the air filter...you're absolutely right. I was even thinking of that when I posted the picture! LOL One of these days I'll get to it. Probably the next time I have some flat white in use for something else...
