AgentG...you and I are thinking along the same lines. I was thinking he got the flat coat just right and the detail in the eyes is phenomenal! Ought to enter this in the Figures Master Class at the IPMS Nationals...it's a sure winner! Seriously....cute baby...just glad it's yours and not mine. With 4 of my own and 3 grandkids so far I've done my part for the proliferation of mankind!

Now THAT'S how a glossy paint job should look! I can appreciate the hand polishing work that you've put into these models! Bravo!

If you find yours, please let me know where as mine might be lost in the same place!

It's amazing how many modelers are musicians too. Not just bassists but all kinds of instruments! Wish I still had the 2 or 3 year old Fender Strat I had back in 1965 when I was 13 and taking guitar lessons! That was my second guitar...the first was a Sears Silvertone in that funky Aqua blue color. I never had the fortitude to keep up with the practise deal and it went by the wayside when I got interested in cars. Then about 15 years ago I got this wild idea to take it up again so I bought a fairly nice Black American made Strat and tried it out again. Took lessons for a while and once again I didn't have the necessary drive (or time)to keep up with it and I ended up giving the Strat to a friend who could play pretty good. At least someone is getting some joy out of the Strat and the Roland Jazz Chorus 120 that went with it! -
Gawd...can you imagine a Top Fuel car today with TWO of those engines??? Look how quick and fast they are with just ONE! I don't think they could ever hook up the tires with 15,000 horsepower!!!! What an awesome noise it would make though.....

super glue off vinal tires?

That surprises me...I didn't think Superglue would even stick to vinyl tires! Wonder if that would work gluing those 2 part slicks together? -

Well... once a month...on the 1st to be exact.. and ALWAYS on the 1st...I collect a retirement check! Trouble is...even though I collect them, I never have the previous one by the time the new one is collected! As for tangibles I guess you could call me a tool collector. I admit it...I am another Tim the Toolman! I love tools! My garage is full of automotive tools.....a 10K lb car lift, a motorcycle lift, a big toolbox and a smaller rollabout toolbox filled with hand tools, 4 Sata spray guns, a giant air compressor, a stick welder, a Lincoln 255 digital mig welder, a parts washer, a 20 ton press, a drill press, a sandblast cabinet, an array of air tools and oh hell...it goes on and on. The woodshop is just as full of woodworking tools. The model shop is full of tools and the DJ system is nothing more than a collection of electronic stuff that is a tool in and of itself! Heck, even my F250 is a tool, especially when the plow is attached! I've often thought that my life would literally be over if I ever lost my ability to use my tools...i.e. loss of sight or hands! -

Well ours isn't very well funded as you said. In fact right now, I have the depts' 1977 Dodge 1 ton pickup in my garage. Volunteers from the volunteer dept have been in my garage a few nights a week for the past couple of months working on this rescue vehicle. We have removed the 8' regular bed and are replacing it with a used utility body they found for $250.00. It was kinda beat and needed a lot of work. The boys went around and got a lot of stuff donated...the thing was sandblasted by a local company for just the cost of the media...a local auto paint store donated some bondo and primer and paint and sanding supplies...and a bunch of other parts were donated by other folks. My son is painting the entire vehicle...cab and body. One of the boys is good at wiring and is rewiring all the lights. It wouldn't run well and the carb was trash so we found a new manifold and carb on evilbay and I'm getting the engine up to snuff. All this so the guys can have a decent vehicle as a first responder instead of sending the big trucks out (I think) And these guys are doing it all themselves...barely a trickle of assistance finacially from the town. Sad..... And btw, I'm not a fireman nor a member of the dept.

I am so very proud of the VOLUNTEER members of our local Fire Departments! Yesterday, in below freezing temperatures, the VOLUNTEER members of the Jewett City, Griswold, and a couple of other nearby Departments, held a Boot Drive to raise money to help the families of the 4 dead teenagers in that horrendous crash on Tuesday. Apparently none had any kind of life insurance on their children to pay for funeral costs so any monies that could be raised was to go to them for that purpose. Well friends, these VOLUNTEERS, many of whom were on the accident scene and witnessed the human carnage and had a hard time handling it, stood out in the middle of Main St in Jewett City yesterday holding out a Fireman's Boot to raise money from passing motorists. The weather was clear but freezing cold and they did this from 8 AM to 8 PM. In the very first hour they had collected $5,000! I never saw main St. in our litle town so busy! People heard about the boot drive on the radio stations and on the Noon TV news and were coming from all over eastern Connecticut and Rhode Island just to drop money into the boots for those victim's families! By the time they ended the drive at 8 PM they had collected over $54,000 in cash!!!!! And this is not counting all the checks that people threw in nor what will come in the mail from other folks who could not get there yesterday. Simply amazing!!! This is what I love about my small hometown! In the face of this tragic accident that claimed 4 young lives, the whole town and literally the whole of eastern Connecticut has come together to support the victim's families with the VOLUNTEER firefighters leading the way! This complete unselfishness characterizes the best of what our VOLUNTEERS do...provide community Service on a VOLUNTEER basis! I was in public service as a State Trooper for 22 years, so I know what it's like to put yourself out there in service. But I was paid for my work....these folks do it everyday, UNPAID, on a VOLUNTEER basis. My hat is off to all of them! Well done folks! And if any of you are volunteer firefighters, my hat is off to you too! My thanks to all volunteer firefighters for their service

As usual when these things happen....more info comes out. Turns out the driver of this tragedy did not even HAVE his driver's license yet...he only had a Learner's Permit. In Conn. when driving under a Learner's Permit, the only person who can be in the car is a certified instructor or a parent or legal guardian. The car was registered to the young girl's mother. She turned out to be 16, not 15 and she actually had a driver's license. The car was registered to her mother. But she can't have passengers either. Seems they just took the car for a joyride, so to speak. Some joy eh? Teenagers: Those laws are there to keep you safe from things like this. Please, please obey them! What a useless waste of young lives!

Guys, Thanks for all the good words... Bernie...the 5th teen is still in critical condition as of 6 AM this morning, He was transferred by Lifestar Helicoptor to Yale-New Haven Hospital and is being treated there. The town is having a candlelight vigil this evening at the gazebo in the park. All 5 are students at Griswold High School (my old school!) One was a sophomore, 3 were juniors and one was a senior. This small town is devastated!

Around 5:30 this afternoon a mile or so from my house, 4 teenagers from our high school were killed in a one car accident. One was a 15 year old girl. A fifth one is also hurt badly. On Rte 201 near the entrance to the State Forest, there is a small hill or knoll in the road. I've been over it a thousand times myself. It's one of those knolls where if you go fast enough you can get that funny feeling of momentary weightlessness in your stomach as you go over the peak. I know as I've done it myself many times in my younger days. Tragically I believe that's what these kids were doing. More than likely they were travelling 80 or 90 mph and lost control. They hit a tree sideways and destroyed the car. 3 teenagers dead on scene, 4th died at the hospital, don't know about the 5th. My Trooper son is the investigating Trooper on scene. My other son is in the Fire Dept. and was there also. Very tragic... gonna be a sad Christmas for a lot of people in my town this year! My heart goes out to these families and my community.

You gotta be kidding me! Great cinematography??? NOT! While this trailer shows some pretty cool cars, the acting is terrible and it appears to be nothing but a violent murder movie. Not anything like American Graffiti! Just gratuitous shooting and killing. It's certainly not a movie I would take my grandsons to! Geez...what junk! Hope you're not involved in making it! -
Oh Man this is SO cool! Right up my alley of stuff I really like! Well done!

Beautiful build as usual Neil. But whar's the radiator? Need that to be a gasser.... )

My most dangerous car was my first State Police cruiser...a 73 Plymouth Fury. These big boats were not bought as Police packages...they were just taxis with 440 magnum engines in them. So when you got into a chase, as soon as you hit your brakes at 80 mph....you then had NO brakes. I recall the first time I was chasing a bad guy. It was my 3rd day on the job and I was still with my "coach".(this was before FTO's for you current LEO's) Right after I lost the brakes and was stepping on them as hard as I could with both feet, my coach looks at me and says, "Oh and btw, I forgot to tell ya that when you hit the brakes hard at anything over 75, you don't have any brakes for a while..." I remember yelling at him, "Thanks for letting me know that BEFORE it happened!!!" He just laughed...as we barely missed a 100 year old oak tree...I kid you not!

Does anyone know if ALL the issues of the AMT 68 RoadRunner have the Hemi engine?
