  1. I think it looks great! Bare Metal Foil would really bring it to life!!!
  2. Oh....you were kiddin'......haha........sorry, I need more coffee.
  3. If I'm not mistaken, those are them little 13 inch lowrider donut wheels and would look sorta goofy on a Charger, ESPECIALLY a General Lee!!! I think the stock wheels are perfectly fine, but you might think about hittin' em with some dullcote.
  4. Sometimes, we have to use a little "creative license" when going by the kit instructions painting guide. You would be ok to paint suspension arms semi-gloss or satin black. And there's much much more than flat, gloss, and semi-gloss.....theres oily black, weathered black, grimey black...etc! "Tire black" is probably a semi-gloss. And yes, what's wrong with new cars being black?
  5. This is one of the coolest builds I've seen in awhile. Very clever idea, sir, and just to show how much I like it, I made you the rear tag. Its a copy of the real General Lee tag, but I made it say "06" instead of "76". Just reduce it to the correct size, and print it out on photo paper.
  6. I'm not so sure I've ever seen a two-tone 67 Impala. How about just doing the metallic blue with a white vinyl top?
  7. There's something about it that reminds me of Ford's automatic retractable seat belts.
  8. Yikes...I forgot the link! Here ya go............ http://www.mcwautomotivefinishes.com/paint/catalog.html Look under "Ford" and I'm sure you'll find what you need.
  9. Model Car World should have what you need. Most of his stuff is in bottles, but he has some select colors in spray cans.
  10. Thanks, everyone. GASSER!!!! Where ya been, man???? I was wonderin' whatever happened to ya!
  11. Looks good to me too!!!!You should do well in the contest.
  12. I usually paint it aluminum, then dry brush it with brass.
  13. I been going through this "Mopar musclecar" thing lately.....not Hemi stuff, mind you, but the wedge motor stuff. I figured if I threw together a Revell 70 Challenger, it might just get it out of my system for awhile. This one is pretty much box stock, except for engine wiring and tire lettering. Decals are a combination of kit decals and Keith Marks. Paint is plain ol' Testors Sublime lacquer. Did this get this "Mopar fixation" out of my system? Well....not exactly. I'm now gathering parts to build a 68 440 GTX. Is there a support group for this?
  14. Yeah, thats Jeff Dunham. Funny stuff!
  15. My condolences to you and your family. I can relate, I lost my own father last month. Take care, and God bless.
  16. Nope sorry, didn't watch it. I wanted to watch something more interesting than Nascar, and there was a Spongebob Marathon on Nicklodean............
  17. Ummmm.....somebody DID! lol!
  18. And to answer the original question, no, you don't really "need" clear over ANYTHING, except a base coat/clear coat system. The clear DOES help the shine and makes polishing easier.....but if you're using gloss paint, its not really required.
  19. This is so true. Test your clear first.....put a small amount in a clear paint jar. If it isn't 100% crystal clear, don't use it. Automotive Urethane is the best to use, but pricey. Future floor finish is just as good, IMHO....and cheap! And it WILL NOT YELLOW.
  20. Dude, I made it home, and heres all I got that might be somewhat "tunerish"......... This is the stock wheel/tire set from a Dragon BMW M3. I built one with aftermarket wheels, so I had these left over: I have no idea what this set is from, I just have em.....they look kinda tunerish, though: If these will help ya, shoot me a PM with your addy and I'll get em sent out to ya.
  21. My friend Lee (Midnightprowler) doesn't have a photo hosting site at the moment, so he asked me if I would post a few of his builds for him. First up is his Cobra. I really don't know much about it, so maybe he'll be along shortly to tell y'all about it.........
  22. The guy that had it swore it was a Studebaker 283......had everybody believing it. It looked identical to a small block Chevy, he even said the parts would interchange, but it had "Studebaker" on the valve covers. I'm sure it wasn't the stock engine for the car. He actually ran pretty good with it, winning a few races. Did Studebaker ever have a 283 like that? The guy WAS a major BSer, maybe he was pullin' our legs! The more I think about it, that would make an interesting model project....wish I didn't have 20 projects already going.......
  23. I really am impressed by those hinges and magnets. You have almost inspired me to try that on something I'm planning. What kind of soldering iron are you using, as I need to get a new one. My kids used my old one as a Star Wars light sabre.......
  24. You know, I been thinkin.....I might just have something kind of tuner-oriented, maybe some wheels/tires off a BMW or something. I'll check monday, when I get home. If I do, there yours if you want em.
  25. Holy moly! Those injectors are quite nice indeed.
