Yes, depending on the subject matter, I would buy a few.

Now THAT is a beautiful model.

Is it just me, or.......

Harry did................. just imagine THAT front end with the rear end of the green one. That just might look halfway decent. -
What was your hardest build yet?

See if you can find an old IMC Ford GT40. You'll never look at exhaust systems the same. -
A man goes in a bar and sits down next to an old drunk. The old drunk is looking at a raw oyster on a plate in front of him mumbling "I can't do it, Cap'n, I just can't do it...". "Whats wrong pal", the man says...."Afraid of a little raw oyster? Well, I like 'em! They're good for your libido!" The old drunk turns and says "Yeah, but they look disgustin'. I'll bet you 10 bucks you can't swallow that thing and keep it down." "10 bucks?" says the man...."Buddy, you just lost 10 bucks!". With that, he grabbed the plate, put it to his lips, and "gulp", the oyster was gone. "See there", said the man...."Swallowed it and kept it down. Nothing to it! Now pay up!" The old drunk reached in his pocket, pulled out a 10 dollar bill, laid it on the bar and said "you must be more of a man than me.....I swallowed the dang thing 9 times and never COULD keep it down."

If you look up "perfect stance" in the dictionary, it should have a picture of that next to it! Thats really looking great! -
You know you have "arrived" when you can make a Citation look good! I never thougt I'd say this to anybody, but....great looking Citation! Lol! yeah, me too, in that I owned one. It caught on fire once, and like a fool, I put it out.

Wow.....The Batman was on "Overhaulin'". So how were they able to "steal" it?

I finally had the chance to see one of these Camaros in person yesterday. Did you ever see an ad for food, and it looks sooooooo tasty, but when you get to the restaurant and order it, it doesn't look like the ad? Thats kinda how I feel about this Camaro. Overall, it just didn't look like it was well built....sorta cheap looking. The front end is ok, but the rear??? Is it just me, or do ALL new cars seem to have two different design teams building the front and the rear? Look at the Charger....the front is mean, aggressive. The rear looks like an old lady car. I don't think this new Camaro is going to be a big seller. As soon as the "gotta have one" crowd gets theirs, nobody else will want one. If Chevy wanted to go retro, they shoulda styled the new Camaro after the 72-73s.....now THAT would've been cool. Like Bob said, the 69s have gotten boring. I swear, theres more 69 Camaros now than there was IN 69! Yes, the Challenger could've been awesome if it wasn't so tall! I'm tempted to get a kit and section it about 4-5 scale inches, just to see what COULD'VE been! Ford hit the mark on the Mustang. It looks great, runs good, and its somewhat affordable. But the bottom line for me is.......none of these cars excites me enough to actually want one. I'll just keep driving my old beat up 15 year old S10 until it quits......THEN fix it and drive it some more! Its paid for. -
did you know this ?

"Holy acrylic enamel, Batman.......what could all this mean?" "I don't know, Robin......it COULD be clues from the Riddler, who might be planning a diabolical scheme in his sick, twisted mind to take over the world's automotive paint booths.....or it COULD be just some poor, misguided fool with nothing better to do than be mildly annoying. Quick, Robin....to the Batmobile! We must analyze this data using the Bat-computer!" To be continued, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.............. -
What was your hardest build yet?
roadhawg replied to vizio93's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm not so sure any one build is "harder" than any other, but some are certainly more frustrating. My most frustrating build SHOULD'VE been an easy build....a model of a 1976 Trans Am I used to own........ I had searched for an MPC 76 Formula to convert into a T/A, but then I saw a resin caster, who shall remain nameless, with a 1976 Trans Am trans kit, to convert the MPC/Ertl Blackbird kit into a 76 T/A. It took forever to get the parts....about 3 months.....with different excuses as to WHY I hadn't gotten them, and when I FINALLY got them, I probably could've carved pieces that fit better. The Blackbird kit doesn't exactly "fall together" on a GOOD day, and every part gave fit issues. Since the nosepiece wasn't even close, I had to putty everything and rescribe lines. I had it looking sorta ok, started to put it on the stand for paint, and dropped it.....busted it all apart. GRRRRRR! Well, I got it all back together as best I could....never did get the resin hood to fit right, just poor quality if you ask me, but most REAL GM cars of that era had fit issues too, so I just got it close as I could. It wasn't a show model anyway. So.....that was two years ago, and this thing is STILL being frustrating. You see, I noticed about a year ago that the hood didn't fit as good as I thought it did......WAIT A MINUTE......the hood is WARPING as time goes by! Over the last two years, the resin hood has transformed from merely a poor fitting hood into a white, screamin' chicken, banana! I snapped this pic this morning on my way out the door....see what I mean? Yep, Thats my most frustrating build. Its been finished for two years, and it STILL might make it to the scrap box! Lol! -
Pretty impressive collection. Like I had mentioned in another topic, my 5 year old son is really into Transformers. Santa brought him a Bumblebee Camaro, and as soon as he opened it, he unfolded it into a robot, then asked ME to fold it back into a car. "Pffftt", I thought, "How hard could THIS be?" Oh my goodness....that thing is like a Rubiks Cube on crack! I turned and twisted arms and legs for about an hour, and just as soon as I gave it back to him, he unfolded it into a robot again. Good grief! When is the new movie due out?

Then how about just sawing that whole block off and replacing it with a flat piece of plastic or aluminum?
-
BTW....this isn't the first time a motorcycle engine has been used in a competition oriented car. Check out Legends race cars....5/8 scale race cars powered by Yamaha 1250 engines. Way cool!
-
A mm??? Looks like you need to shave the whole block off! That dude would look kinda silly driftin' with his head stickin' through the sunroof!
-
How about................

Turn it over and make a racing bathtub out of it! http://bob.jonez.info/oliver/albums/03-Can...htub_racing.jpg LOLOL!!! Thanks, George. I wuz havin' a rough day and needed a laugh!

No, its really not TOO bad........ http://www.chrometechusa.com/modelplate2.html ......The only issue is turn around time. It could take 3-6 weeks to get the stuff back. Great idea, except BMF is the only product of its kind worth using. The "others", (Testors, Detail Master, etc) are MUCH worse. The stuff that has "new" on the package seems to be good. Not really a lot of choice here.
-
Kinda rare to see one as a street rod.....most end up as gassers! Looks fantastic!
-
Interesting, for sure! I can honestly say I've never seen this done before! Great job!
-
Yes, indeed! I've seen probably a zillion different builds of this kit, and yours is one of, if not THE, best! Beautiful!
-
Beautiful job! I think you guys have missed the point on the "clean" wheels. I see this quite often nowadays at cruise-ins, I think its called "Resto-Rat", Lol! A lot of guys are taking rustbuckets and driving them around with new wheels/running gear, but ratty interiors and the "perfect patina". I saw a '50 Buick last year that was like this, but had a new set of 19" Torque Thrusts on it! Very cool! I like it! Great show! That dates me too, but at least TV shows were worth watching back then, not like the garbage they put out today!

Man, I'm with you on this! How did it ever get so important to take something that makes sense and change it just to be like the foriegners? My pet peeve is the dimmer switch. It USED to be on the floorboard, where it belonged! Then, some Einstien got the bright idea that since some Audi or Saab or Mazda has it on the steering column, ALL American cars should have it on the steering column. So how's that working out? NOT TOO GOOD! I'm driving along with my high beams on....cup of coffee in my left hand, cell phone in my right, steering with my right knee. I meet another car. I now have a choice....spill coffee everywhere, wreck, or blind the poor guy with my brights. Meanwhile, my left foot is just laying there, doing nothing. Oh, the gas filler should be on the drivers side, because thats where Nascar puts 'em. -
Thank you, thank you.....you're a wonderful crowd. I'll be playing here all weekend.

The economy is so bad, I went to to the store to buy a new toaster and they asked me if I wanted a free bank to go with it!
