  1. Gettin' closer germs and gals! Almost right! Just needs a bit O' tuning. A tad bit less contrast. Break out that sledge, Jedd!
  2. Thanks Roger! In the meantime, here is my step ladder and shop lite OOPS! I mean pee-row-fess-ee-o-nall ( pronounced with Mr. Haney's accent ) lighting arrangement! First shot too bland Second shot neat, but too much contrast More thinnin' needed. Crack open that Jug, Jedd!
  3. I'm gonna work on the lighting. I tried my son's floor lamp but didnt get the effect I was after. And I did resist the urge to duct tape my shop lite to the wall, though hose clamping it to the floor lamp might work!
  4. Very nice stance and build! I love that color on S-13's.
  5. I like the contrast between the red primer and the gloss black framerails.
  6. Draggon

    Hornet

    The hood looks fantastic.
  7. Yep, from the 1966 riviera lowrider
  8. 3rd paragraph.. .."relativley sleek" Yeah Gabe, it looks like a sprinter. The messed up thing is that being an old school guy, THIS is what a "sprinter" looks like:
  9. Wow, maybe thats the reason why my Cady Decals didnt apply so well. Are the real things very thin, and break up easily? I also have some vintage stuff named as "Billy Gooche", but they are not exact reproducitons, there more like 1/20 rather than 1/25.
  10. Although my parents were from Michigan, there must be some red in my roots, as I always gravitate to duck tape and hose clamps. Photography is my nemesis even tho my dad was for a time a professional photographer. Witness my photo studio. Actually I am sorta proud of it, simple, easy to set up, and when down, takes up no room. A fleece blanket anchored by two pillows, my high-end 30 buck tripod, and my top of the line Nixon coolpix 18. Whoot whoot! I still have to work on the lighting, I think my son's floor lamp placed behind the photography surface, um, I mean the couch, would help a lot. And thanks to Casey for those awesome slots that make this project!!
  11. I must admit to be a bit intrigued by this one. Sounded pretty awesome exiting the pits using the electric motor, then bump starting the gas engine!
  12. The proportions on that Imp Delivery are perfect. I really dig what youre doing so far!
  13. I love roundy-round, but mostly on dirt. Think Vallejo Speedway ( defunct ) San Jose Speedway ( defunct ) and Antioch Speedway, thank goodness its still alive and well. World of Outlaws Sept 10!
  14. There Ya go Chuck! Agreed!
  15. Ooooo, the "Volt Cup" yawning is mandatory. Oh wait, its here, courtesy of Toyschmota! http://www.autoweek.com/article/20111223/CARNEWS/111229953
  16. I'm with ya Rob. I reluctantly admit to watching NASCAR, but I prefer Nationwide. I like to see the little guys do good. And those 2+ hour can ams at laguna seca always wiped me out. Too much excitement!
  17. Hey Joe, I appreciate the understanding. Some of us are old school, and also I am grumpy, and resist change at every possible opportunity! That might explain my affinity for Trophy Series kits and wire axles I guess in a new millenium, the good old days of the "Car of Tomorrow" , IRL with "power to pass", and F-1 with treaded tires will be remembered fondly. I can picture it in my mind...."Hey Fred, do ya remember when Sprint ditched NASCAR, and it became the "Hello Kitty-Shanghai Maple-Bank of China Cup? And when Bill France XVlll mandated front wheel drive and 50 mpg?" ( tongue in cheek )
  18. Good lord, what the heck happend to IMSA and the creativity? I think we all know the end result if "NASTYCAR" takes over. I get it that they are fan based, but for real car guys, the diversity and creativity makes the show. I went to the Can-Ams at Laguna seca for years, and it was all about the creativity, and the driver skills. I watched John Cannon win with an outdated car in the rain,Bruce and Denny battle it out, Peter Revson crash with a dominant car, the insane Chaparral 2J, and the epic fail of the 2H. If nascar has a sick hand in all of this, the only things we'll see is different "wraps". I do not like wraps, I prefer sprayed on paint with hand lettering. But Im prejudiced, I owned a sign shop before signs became just vinyl decals.
  19. Why in the world did ya put this gorgeous model on ebay?? I am mystified!!
  20. If you want to scratchbuild some out of styrene, the common plastic "for sale" signs at the hardware store are pretty thin, and with a sharp exacto it wouldn't be too hard.
  21. Nice! looks good in purple and yellow.
  22. Those lucas cars are awesome!
  23. That is really clean! The chrome sure looks a lot better done in allclad. I dig it, usually you see this one with the dual engines.
