Amazing work Ken. It would be awesome in 1/25, but in 1/8 theres no room for errors, and you nailed it. You keep surprising me with your scratchbuilding skills
Ya got it just right Greg! Re-issue the first edition with the chopped 3 window top, and the flipper caps from the later 40 Sedan delivery, replace the clunky air cleaners with some frog-mouth scoops, engineer a set of over the fenders headers similar to the Phantom Sickey, and what a winner!
Bill's got it down, however, instead of comet, I use "SoftScrub" at all the primer stages. When worked hard, the softscrub can make the primer glossy yet have some "teeth", perfect for color coats!
Got this kit off ebay a few weeks ago. The pics do not do the damage justice. All the seller did was wrap the flimsy AMT box in birthday wrapping paper. When it arrived, half of the wrapping paper was stuffed inside the box. Thank goodness all the contents were fine!
MDF. Multiple density fiberboard. This stuff cuts way easy, can be painted without primer, and ya can do it at home. I've cut a lot of plexi, mostly for windows in cars, and its not fun to cut, and it scratches easily.
One of my favorite kits, but I've got a "thing" for one piece chassis and wire axles. Love your build Chuck, the color is great, and the Kelsey-Hayes look just right.
Just searched my library, want to read "they call me Mr. 500" none such available. But I can get "they call me honey boo-boo". I live in the wrong state!
Just remembered more. I spent a month on "the road to serfdom". Incredible forward thinking and insightful. Unfortunately it was such a slog I didnt make it to the end. Last year I discovered Lee Child. His "reacher series" based upon a reitred military Op and incredibly tough situations he finds himself in, were the fist books in decades where I couldnt put it down, and got excited.
Killing Lincoln, O'Reilly. Best read in years. Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead, Ayn Rand. Tough to slog thru, but fascinating idealogy. Ann Coulter, How to talk to a Liberal if you must. She is so confident of her opinions, she cracks me up.
I really want to join this. Ive got a vintage 40 Ford coupe in black, the sedan in maroon, and a host of monogram stuff. BUT, I've also got about two dozen works in progress. Choices choices.............
