  1. Both quite nice, but I love the "character" of #47!
  2. Thats real nice, the "patina" is quite realistic. I love it.
  3. This fought me the whole way. Snapkits are supposed to be fun, and easy. Well, it was neither. The fit on everything was awful, and i had to do a whole lot of grinding on plastic to get it presentable. I did enjoy making the surfboard rack though.
  4. Fantastic, no negatives from me. That is sooo close to the real thing. I dig it!
  5. Not quite my style, but major kudos for your workmanship. Way to go!!
  6. Makes me wonder, how if someone can afford this car stock, what goes on in their minds to modify it like this. I am reminded of the saying "taste is all in your mouth" I mean, really seriously, who would think this looks good??
  7. That is really nice, I love this paint scheme!
  8. A real work of art!
  9. Outstanding, I love it! That flat finish with the whitewalls on black wheels really set this one apart.
  10. Wow, that looks exactly like the real thing.
  11. The front tires are ancient Revell items that I hogged out to fit. The rears are from the Revell Goodguys 40 Ford, slightly trimmed with and exacto.
  12. Wow, awesome, but isnt "he" a "her"?
  13. Woah, that engine is fantastic!
  14. Im with Harry and Bob. Hank Borger alone changed my building style for the better. His many Car Model articles taught me new techniques, and made me a much better builder.
  15. And we all know how much Frank loves the Russkies......
  16. Sad, he was a class act, and a patriot. Nice guy all around.
  17. Maybe it has something to so with the people designing the motorcycle are the ones building it. I wonder if a kit manufacturer were to design something like the wierd AMT Showrods today, the process from inception to product would be faster.

Thats NICE! Those te37's work quite well on this, and I love that red. Great job!
  19. I wonder if perhaps the Japanese auto makers like the fact that a company is making models of their cars, versus the US automakers look to it as a way to squeeze the last drop of blood from a turnip. Then again, what is licensing like in Japan?
  20. Welcome Carl, what took you so long?
  21. I was 6, and it was the Hubley Metropolitan. Actually my mother built it while I watched and groked the plastic. First one all by myself was the AMT 40 Ford Coupe when I was 8 or 9. Man that was a lot of fun!
  22. At one time my local Raley's Supermarket had a very nice selection, some Revell 32's, some R-M stuff, even Testors paint. The Longs Drugs ( now CVS ) had AMT offerings. I got a Blackforce and Street Fury there. Back in the late 60's early 70's, Longs always had a great selection. I still have a half-dozen kits I bought back then and haven't yet built.
  23. Heres a link, part number is W-170. I have a couple of sets, theyre very nice! http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?page=3&c=0&y=0&pt=30&part=1&Submit=Search
