  1. Looks great! I like the color and the woody treatment too.
  2. speaking of parts I like the rockwells from the mpc monster trucks ,they aren't very detailed but they lend themselves to detailing very well. actually now that I think about it most of my off road builds borrow from the newer amt monster trucks as well .
  3. Nice work,I can't wait to see more!
  4. Lots of cool ideas and nice builds. I just wish one or more of the kit manufacturers would tool up an early bronco and then after that one or two solid axle trucks with a decent suspension that could be used for parts.I like rock crawler/trail rigs but I often get bogged down with all the scrounging for parts to modify. It seems like it takes parts from 3 or 4 kits to get a decent build. while we are at it what are some of your favorite kits for parts?
  5. Very clean. did you glue the body on or is it removable? I stalled on mine because of the injector pin marks, there are quite a few. love it!
  6. Nice bike Jim ! I have a few of those that I need to build.
  7. Nice job.
  8. I would love to see a dodge power wagon in kit form. and also a first gen bronco ,a 1/25th scale baja boot,a glue kit of the hummer (military and civilian),a suburban,a baja bug,a sandrail, any of the track trucks/desert racing corr norra etc,an early willys jeep stationwagon, umm let me think I know there is more.
  9. I know it drives on dirt but I am thinking off road in the classic sense,so this would be the exception that proves the rule.
  10. I don't know who is crazier the guys who actually did this for a living or the guy who built a diorama of it. how long did that take ? seriously Ken I am literally a huge fan. well not because I'm fat but because I have always appreciated your work.
  11. could you please elaborate? the idea is to get ideas out there just to see how many others want to build off road stuff.
  12. I was wondering how many modelers have an off road or 4x4 build floating around their want to do list. so if it was or is an available kit or kits what would you like to build ? it could be a rock crawler ,desert racer, baja bug, dune buggy, dakar motorcycles, dirt bikes, quads,a horse, brush fire truck, border patrol, military hummers, rally car, snow mobile. let us know what you have in mind that you would like to put on your shelf. or show what you have built so others can be inspired.
  13. they are in the hobby stores. however the richfeild hub hobby is out of them so I would call ahead to whereever else you are planning on driving to.
  14. Welcome ,I look forward to seeing the nova.just in case you get the itch to build that other stuff there is always the "other models" section.
  15. just in case it was misread I meant in general and that I was unable to find a picture of the top of the engine. not a condescending remark directed at Joe.sorry .
  16. the blueprinter was an in house newsletter put out by amt ertl when they were selling kits.it was only three or four pages some tips and propaganda and once in awhile a special offer which you could only get via the blueprinter.
  17. Well here's the thing,I have a whole lot of kits, like there is probably a comma involved.early on, once I had a job, I would buy models when ever and wherever I could. I pretty much bought every new release from 1990 on up.kinda slowed down when other responsibilities arrived. so right about now I think I have too many.I believe you have the right idea keeping it where you have it.I just like so many different genres it is hard to narrow down.as for how many built it is just such a ridiculous ratio .............I HAVE STARTED A LOT OF THEM I AM JUST WAITING FOR SOME PARTS.and the finishing fairy.
  18. my mistake .Silly of me to associate the resident batmobile expert with the 60's...man. You're funny!
  19. for the smaller rims in a kit look at some of the italeri trucks with racing trailers or the ones that came with a pre painted motorcycle.
  20. I think it looks great.
  21. just remember to change those cartidges they are filtering even when you aren't using it .if you can smell the paint they need to be replaced.
  22. says the guy named for a campy sixties tv series
  23. I second the winnebago being the holy grail however it is 1/20 th scale .another related item but not quite an rv worth noting is the franklin mint airstream camper is hella nice but also expensive.
