  9. Hey All, Why don't we ask Jairus what it is. If I'm not mistaken he is the artist behind that little sweety. I've used that little kit for parts and as the basis of a couple of custom rods. Rick in Richmond

There are a few of us that meet twice a month at the Martin's in Sycamore Square Shopping center (in the gazebo). Maybe you could come out and join us for a closer look at some of your builds. We meet on the first and third Thursdays each month. Rick in Richmond

  18. Hey K-Dog, Are there any tables left for vending? If so can I reserve one? Let me know, and I'll send ya some cash. I had a pretty good day there last year but wasn't sure I would be able to come back this year for the whole day. I will be able to stay all day now. Thanks, Rick in Richmond
  19. Tonight was our first Thursday of the month meeting, but the torrential "end of days" thunderstorms kept almost everyone home. Big Thanks to Gene and Ed for braving the ferocity and making it out. Unfortunately our photog, George didn't make so no pics to share. Next meeting is in 2 weeks, 8-19-10. Martin's gazebo in Sycamore Square shopping center. Hope to see everyone there. Rick in Richmond
  20. The extremely slow sales of those 4 revell/ monogram engine packs are the reason the parts pack motorcycle kits were never reissued.( as mentioned in another thread ) Revellogram in their infinite wisdom chose to issue the engines before the bikes. The buzz from modelers was that the reissued parts packs would sell like crazy. So hobby shops and distributors ordered lots of these for us hungry modelers, then they sat and sat on the shelves. ( I've seen guys unloading the engine kits for $2 bucks at some shows.) When it came time for revellogram to get pre-orders for the bike kits, hobby shop owners and distributors were still sitting on all of the extra engine kits, they had heard would sell so well, and didn't orderthe bike kits. I believe if the manufacturer had put out the bikes before the engines things may have been different. But, That's just might rambling on it. Rick in Richmond
  21. Revell did 4 bikes. Triumph custom. Harley custom. B.S.A. stock. Honda stock. All were available as parts packs, sometimes issued packed 2 to a box. AMT had a Triumph racing bike and a go-kart available, both originally with '63 annual truck kits. Bike with Chevy and kart with Ford. Both of the AMT kits are available from Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland, and the are 1,00 percent better than the originals. Several mini-bikes have been offered through the years. AMT had them in some van and truck kits. Issues that come to mind are the 6-wheel Ford van, and the monster truck Chevy Blazer IIRC called Destroyer. MPC had a mini-bike in their '76 or '77 Plymouth Road Runner kit. Revell had one in their Vandal kit. Tamiya offered lots of scooter/mini-bikes in their early 80's kits. Revell offered a later Harley in a 90's Ford Pick-up kit. Entex had some motorcycles with sidecars in the 80's, again IIRC. THat's all I can think of without going digging into the STASH.
