Kustoms beat me to it. I was going to post the link to rik hovings fotki page because there are some awsome cars in there. Way behind????? I dont think you are way behind. We just started a couple days ago. Cant wait to see the viper painted again. -
Quad headlights for the bel air would be cool. Also if you have heard of the barris aztec conver i think i would give u lots of ideas for it. But i think if you post pics of the items you have for it it would give us alittle more of an idea. But anyway i think it will turn out cool.

think the favorite parts from the kit are the custom grills fuel injection hemi the log intake with cars and air cleaners, welding tanks, and the 55 chevy fenders. Great stuff. Glad i actully bought on an ebay action and origional box with a ton of the parts on there. Bunch of fendes, frames, bed boxes and some small stuff. Except i didnt get the canted quad headlight grill. Oh well still a great kit.

Wow that truck is nice. Love the grill bumpers ect. I was thinking bout chopping it but right now i still need to learn how to chop because some of my previous ones turned from chop project into roadster projects. So how bad was the chopped cab. Was it like warped or just croked or incleanly done or what. Would you also happen to have some more pics? Would love to see them. Tabsscale thanks for the glue brand names. I will see if i can get some. I have been using super glue for most of my projects except instaling glass and sometimes it works great other times u just want to lite it on fire. The only real good super glue i have had was sap a gap but i cant seem to find it. The one i am using right now is kiwk bond. Also u say this is not your first custom. Well u are doing a great job of it. I will try and find one of my favorite links to a fotki site dedicated to vintage customs. I mean real period customs. U will see names like barris, westgard, balion, alex brothers bile hines, winfield ect. Great site lots of insparation. Well i am done for today. Have to change up the fenders allittle but not much. Well hope to actually get something done tomorrow. -

I was diging around outside in my stash and found the older 70s street rod truck box with instruction . The first thing i did was look inside at them. Yes the street rod series 53 ford ruck with the yellow truck on the cover does have the mag wheels. Sadly the chrome tree that i had had the mags stolen before i got it . Just thought i would let you guys know.

what kind of glue is that. I used super glue on most of my stuff but for chopping it just doesnt do its jub. Chopped a 55 camoe cab and it fell and i had to redo the top. It just flew of. As for my truck nothing new right now. Gona c notch it in the rear and maybe in the fron so that when i put in the moveable hydrolics i can have it ground scrape. Also emailed my freind and asked if he has a 53 ford truck kustom canted quad headlight grill. I want to cut some out of the center and then put it in the origional opening. Also looking for a 57 chrysler front bumper. As for the rear i may just do a simple roll pan or do you guys have some ideas. All build right now are looking great. Glad i actually started this build off. Hope you gys are havin fun. -
lets see. If i go up there it will be with my parents. Dont know yet if i am going. Depends on them mainly. Thanks for the offer though. I hope to go. Like i said though. I love the color on it and i dont know why this guy says its not smooth. It is.
-
oooooh. That will be nice. So what color is it going to be and whats in for it?
-

AWSOME. I have tryed to chop one. Lets just say that i will be a roadster . Nice chop. Are you gona run a hopped up flatty? If you were i would sugest either contacting replicas and minuatures company of maryland. They have nice hop ups or for a nice kit flatty i would go with the one out of the revell 50 ford truck. But wow. Awsome work. -
Kev i cant stand when people come here and start to talk trash bout someone elses model. Hope you come back quicker than expected. Your paint jobs are always awsome (better than mine) and i dont know what he is tlaking bout.

Well kept headbanging the wodden wall some more. Gona end up doing a realy small hydrolic suspension So i can pose it by hand. Just need to figure out how to build it. Any ideas??? So hows it going for you guys. -
uh well what can i say THATS IS AWSOME Nice build. Whats in it for the interior?

Ok, in fairness to Dirt Track Racecars, (who paid for this reissue & are getting it out to us), they reproduced the exact box art from that version issued in the early 70's, with all of it's info, & probably didn't think about or even know about the Astro mags no longer being in the kit. As best as I can remember, all the issues of the 53 Ford pickup after that one had the baby moons. I can recall building it in the mid 70's, (I was 13-14 at that time, so we're talking 1974-1975), & it had the baby moons, & the last reissue in the 90's did as well.

do you happen to have some better pics of the motor. I would like to see how the bead look on it. Cant wait to see it done.
