  1. I tried calling the company but got an answering machine, I guess they're closed today. The one thing that has me a little doubtful is the wheel/tires. They look like the ones from a New Ray 1/32 truck or a Testors 1/28 truck?
  2. Who here would be interested in a modern 53' detailed van trailer!!!!!!! I found these while looking on Youtube. They are G scale which is very close to 1/25! http://www.1stplacehobbies.com/cgi-bin/p_614-46806_n.asp
  3. The van body is exactly the same in the Ford C series kits and the Ford LN series kits.
  4. Wow, you guys actually have flat areas to set things on!!!! I had to move that many kits just to see my tv! LOL
  5. A couple of you have asked about the machined aluminum tophats that I'm having Jim make so I thought I'd post some pics so everyone can see how they look. They will be as you see in the picture, just without the lug nuts. There will be ten perfectly spaced holes in the bottom "ring" for lug nuts to be glued into. These could be used on any kit wheel with a little work. (such as grinding out the hub or shaving the lug nuts off the wheel surface). I machined this tophat myself but the one's I'm having Jim make will be identical. The acorn lug nuts you see in the pics can be purchased from RB Motion.
  6. I did design cool little acorn nuts as well as standard type lug nuts to go with these wheels. They are also machined aluminum and can be purchased from RB Motion. I have recently discovered some nice plastic nuts with the stud sticking out the center as well that should work with these but I have not purchased any yet. I gave Jim plans to make the domed center hub cover or "top hat" to be used in the rear wheels and I think he will be offering those soon as well.
  7. Hey guys, here's a project I have been working on for over a year now. I drew up these Peterbilt wheels to where they are exactly 24.5 in 1/24 with all the correct contours that the real wheel has. They will fit the Italeri rubber tires as well as most of the aftermarket rubber tires available. I had Jim Littiken at Micro Nitro make these for me on his CNC equipment and he has done an outstanding job!!!! I know most of you may think the price is too high but you have to remember, these are precision machined aluminum parts made exactly to my specs. Anyone that knows machining will know that 14.00 per wheel is a good deal! If your not interested, that's fine but please don't post here telling me how you would never spend that much on a model, part or whatever. This post is for those who ARE interested. For those who are interested, you can purchase these wheels as well as many others Jim offers by emailing him at: hoosierminiatures@gmail.com. Be sure to tell him I sent you! Also, if you do order some, please let me know as I am wanting to know how well these do as I am hoping to have him make other styles such as Kenworth wheels as well. http://cgi.ebay.com/Peterbilt-10-Oval-hole-Machined-Aluminum-Wheels-1-25-/290572435075?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a7777e83
  8. They have come out with more resin kits since this thread was started. http://www.comet-miniatures.com/browse.php?s_categ=65&zone=11&
  9. What they meant to say was that the 352 was made to replace W series invented in 1908. These were built by the Unilites. They were a clan of little people and the leader's name was Peter. Hence "Peterbilt". The first trucks they built were called unconventionals that had to be flipped over to service them. Now with the new 352 you simply tilt the cab backwards to access the spark plugs!
  10. It's like someone got you really drunk and asked a question about the 352! LOL, LOL, LOL
  11. Wow!!!!!!!!, All that chrome on that black looks awesome!!!!!!! You should see the 379 with an ICT sleeper on a 300" wheelbase I got to drive and work on this past week at work! Could have easily been a show truck but the owner said he never shows it. It was all green as he pulled for Mayflower. All his "Peterbilt" emblems had been replaced with "Shark" in green. Looked cool! I have pics on my phone but I need to get the cable to hook it to my computer. Cummins had sent him to us so I could replace his transfer switch in his sleeper as the load side had burned up. That wasn't fun! They put the switch in a wall under the sofa/bed with only a small access hole to work on it.
  12. Something else you can try is to gently rub them with an eraser.
  13. Something else to remember, all the cool decals out there for 1/25 trucks such as factory paint schemes and company logos, can be printed in 1/32 as well!
  14. Yep, I have all three of those Entex, Ford C series race transporter kits. They're super nice!!!!! Real rubber tires working steering and yes, a detailed little gas engine under the cab. It's almost like they shrunk the AMT Ford C600 kit down to 1/32! The single axle pup in the Martini Porsche kit is very much like the 1/25 Trailmobile pup that AMT makes as well! The Ferrari set has a nice 40' drop belly van that would make a great bed bugger trailer! My favorite is the straight truck (ELF Racing). It features longer chassis rails like the 1/25 AMT stake truck has and the body has a working rear door, clear "glass" roof and the very front panel, over the cab folds outward to allow the cab to tilt. Here's a link to one that's built really nice: http://www.slotforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=30091
  15. Wow Eric! Those are some cool projects!!!!!!!!! For Charles, the all white reefer is the one I have. All those Kenworth cabover projects that Eric is working on started out as a Kenworth Aerodyne cabover. A flat top cab was never made as a plastic kit. AMT offered two Ford kits, a CL9000 cabover and an LTL9000 conventional. These kits feature a detailed little Detroit 8V71T engine. Amt offered a Mack Superliner, Kenworth Aerodyne conventional and cabover as well but they do not not have an engine. ERTL offered the only International 9670 cabover ever offered in kit form and it does feature a tilting cab with engine but the engine is not very detailed.
  16. Hey Jim, Boley sells a cheaper version, about 25.00 for the tractor and trailer. This would be the best choice if one wants to rob the wheels and tires. Eric is more than welcome to the ones that I have. If he wants to mold them, you'll be able to buy just the wheels and tires from him. There is a much, much bigger demand for 1/35 military kits as opposed to the demand for 1/32 snap kits. The 1/32 snap kits are geared towards beginning modelers. To keep the price down so younger builders can afford them, high detail will be sacrificed.
  17. For those interested, this is the truck those wheels come on. http://cgi.ebay.com/INTERNATIONAL-8600-DAY-CAB-SILVER-THERMO-KING-RE-/370465479669?pt=Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item5641769bf5 It is made by Boley. There are two versions. This one, the more expensive version features a very nice, very accurate 48' diecast reefer. The other, cheaper version has a plastic box van. Both versions share these wheels. The Internationals are the ONLY ones that Boley sells that have these wheels. Boley sells copies of the NewRay Peterbilts and they have those nasty NewRay wheels.
  18. Did someone say "better 1/32 wheels and tires"?????? What do you guys think about these bad boys!!!!!
  19. Hess trucks as well as most gas station promos vary in scale. Most of the trucks are around 1:35 but there have been many 1/25 and 1/24 wreckers, rollbacks, stake trucks and much more from other stations. One of the most sought after Hess promos is the Hess Training van. This is a very detailed, 1/25, GMC six wheel, front wheel drive motorhome. It replicates the real unit very well! Tom Ellifrit took one and super detailed it, scratch building the rear air ride suspension and redoing the entire interior. Outstanding model!
  20. I have a couple of the Lindberg Dodge Charger SRT8 kits and was wondering if the newly released Charger police cars are essentially the same kit with the exception of the police equipment?
  21. Maybe they should take lessons from Moebius!!!!!!!!
