Oh there's people fishing for suckers all the time on Ebay! My favorite one so far is the guy selling a flat sheet of resin for about 8.00! Hmmmmm, I could close my eyes and find sheet plastic for less! I wonder if I should buy it?!
I have a few of those. I love the Zingers kits! I want to build one of those Super Semi's with a factory paint scheme that would have been used on the GMC Astro.
My bad, I just went and looked at my kit and it's not on there either. I must have seen it on a forum or something? I remember it telling who each person was.
Very cool Chris!!!!!!! I would only change one thing. The rear drive hubs would be painted to match the orange on the chassis. You could still put a baby moon cap on the ends if you like the chrome look back there. I'm wanting to build an all orange 379 myself and plan on leaving the front and rear hubs orange.
I'm pretty sure it tells you on the box somewhere who they are. I think it was in real small print? Might be on the instruction sheet? I remembered wondering the same thing myself and ended up reading who they were. One of them is Dave Burkette (The Model King)that had that kit reissued.
Simple, keep buying kits. If she asks, say that you bought it for her in hopes that she would enjoy the hobby with you. If she accepts the kit, great! Go buy another one and tell her it's for her and you forgot about buying the previous one! LOL
No Jerry! There's NOOOOOOOOOO trailers available for us poor, poor truck modelers. Oh how nice it would be if someone........would make an all newwwwwwwwww, modern trailer!!!!!! (Get it?) Wouldn't that be awesome if there was a newwwwww trailer to go with this awesome newwwww Lonestar kit. (do you see my point now?)
There are no trailer kits that will fit this beautiful new tractor from the GREAT people at Moebius. We will all just have to build our Lonestars and dream of what it would be like to have a modern 53' spread axle chrome plated reefer trailer to place behind our incredible Lonestar. Oh, if only someone...anyone (Moebius) would make a kit of an all new modern accurate trailer, we could rejoice and sing songs!
Hey Larry, I ended up finding the same kit built as the Mongoose so i'm going to build my unbuilt one as the Snake to go with it.
The link to that graffiti Creator is posted, a couple replies up from this one.
I'm familiar with those Revell engines with the molded in detail. I didn't realize there were so many engines in "American" kits that had that much detail though. I thought it would mostly be the Fujimi/Hasagawa or Tamiya type kits that would feature the detail. I remember, years ago, taking a V8 block and making a crank from sheet plastic (counterweights) and rod stock for the journals. I then used wire to make the connecting rods and bigger plastic rod for the pistons with aluminum tube cylinders. I looked horrible but you could twist the crank and see the pistons move!
Ooooh, I LOVE this kit!!!!!!! VERY detailed with tons of working features! The doors, hood and trunk all open. The hood and trunk feature separate underside bracing. The steering works and the backs of the front seats even fold forward! Some issues were better than others as some had a lot of flash on the parts. It really builds into a very nice, accurate Turbine car though! Seeing this has me wanting another!!!!!!
