  1. It sounds like your building excessive head pressure when the gun is hooked up. If you hold the trigger down all the way, does the compressor run ok? If so, there's a bypass check valve on it somwhere that's stuck closed, not letting the air bypass when your not pressing the trigger. Based on not seeing exactly how it works of course.
  2. I like to think of the amount of fun I'll have in owning and building the kit. Is the fun your going to have worth a measly 43.00?!
  3. LOL, I went from not really having any ideas, to having too many good ones!!!! I'm leaning towards the Maliblues on a bright blue body.I'll be sure to post pics as soon as I get it painted! A big thanks to everyone for their input!
  4. Something like this?
  5. Here's another one I'm considering.
  6. Across the back......tail of the Comet!
  7. No comet! (no comment! lol)
  8. Thanks! I think it goes with this fat little Chevy body! LOL I was just experimenting with those colors. I was trying to make the letters look like chrome. You can do it on there, I just don't know how yet? You can add designs into each letter as well like fire or bubbles, ect. I just need to find someone that can take my picture, after I make the design I want and turn it into a decal!
  9. Hey Sergey, seeing that red engine, I'm reminded of seeing them before but I've never seen a light blue one! I like how it looks! You do know there's lots of places you can get real aluminum fuel tanks to put on your truck, right? Nothing looks more like an aluminum fuel tank...than an aluminum fuel tank!!!! LOL They're cheap too!
  10. What do you guys think of this? I found a graffiti creator that lets you make any word look like graffiti. You can choose all kinds of styles and colors.
  11. It's molded in orange and doesn't look very good in that color to me. I'm thinking a bright purple or candy red, maybe candy blue, something like that?
  12. Hey Richard, The Malibu was released twice, the second time it was dubbed a "Funster". That's the version I'm building. Still had to pay 60.00 it, even being a reissue! Looks like the Ferd Phoney car is going to be the hard one to get! I have seen it twice on Ebay not too long ago but it wasn't cheap! I've spent the last day doing all the body work, filling holes, gaps in the chassis, etc. Nothing exciting to take pics of yet. I removed the plastic fuel tank and will be replacing it with one I'll be machining. I plan on machining aluminum belt pulleys and outer rings to make the rear wheels deeper. My biggest obstacle right now is how to paint it. I want it to have a lot of color!
  13. LOL, these are great! I would have never thought of some of them! You guys are gonna laugh but this is not just a funny car but a "funny" funny car. It's the Deal Wheels Malibu funny car. I never really liked those Deals Wheels kits but when I found out they had funny cars with full chassis' and a body that lifts up, I had to have them. So with that being said and this thing being kinda "cartoonish", I was thinking of "Maliboo boo"? LOL, I know.....corny! Also, It's not being built box stock, I want to put a wild paint job on it and I'm machining some aluminum goodies for it. It will have injection lines and spark plug wires as well. Thanks for the suggestions!
  14. Hey guy's I'm building a 72 Chevy Malibu funny car and I'm trying to think of a name that could be made into a decal and put on the sides of the body. Something staying with the theme of it being a Malibu funny car. I hope this makes sense?
  15. Plano model products sells photo etch sheets that have your choice of round holes, Peterbilt oval holes, very small rectangles and squares. One sheet could do four stacks with some left over for air cleaner screens or whatever. The sheet is about 3"X7" and costs 12.00 the last time I checked. They can be bought in nickle or brass. (the nickle looks like chrome.)
  16. Chitwoods? Hmmmmmmmm, doesn't that have something to do with a bear?
  17. Hello Sergey! I am not a Mack expert but I do know they paint their engines gold or grey. I'm not sure on light blue or red though?
  18. Excellent work Sergey!!! A model so detailed would really benefit from a set of the real aluminum split rim ten hole wheels I'm having made!!!! Not only are they real machined aluminum, but they are also correct in shape. The AMT wheels have incorrect contours. These wheels are designed to be direct replacements for the kit wheels and still use the kit's plastic lock rings. (The lock rings are steel and would be painted on real wheels). I have also had real machined aluminum lug nuts made to go with these wheels. If you think you might be interested in some, let me know.
  19. Just ya some beans and back up to the fireplace! Your backside will be well lit!
  20. Ooooooh, I like those amber chicken lights! Good idea molding them in amber!
  21. Great to have another truck builder here Mike! Eric (he goes by Porky) has P&P Resins and has most all of what your looking for. Sourkraut has lots of good stuff as well but he's usually sold out. Kit Form Services in England has all kinds of truck stuff but they are geared more towards European trucks. They do have a lot of universal and American stuff too though. I myself have mastered many different wheel and they can be bought through Jamie Rahmoeller (when he gets back to casting) All of these site can be found on Google real quick except for Jamie, he has to be emailed directly. Message me if you would like his email.
  22. Lookin great! I have the exact same truck, same color and all but the cab is green too. It's sitting on a shelf needing a rebuild!
