  1. Most of the Monogram Funny cars, Snake, Mongoose, Cop Out and such, all shared the same rear slicks that had a wrinlke wall. They're two piece vinyl.
  2. Glad to hear everything turned out good for you Terry! I too was in the hospital for an irratic heart beat and had to have a heart cath done. I think I got about 6 hours of actual sleep in five days! And I was in a room by myself!
  3. From what I have heard, there was strike going on at AMT at the time which greatly affected the release of these kits.
  4. The Fonz jumped sharks! Remember that!? LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpraJYnbVtE
  5. Wow!!!!! I'll be watching this one!! My favorite car is the GNX!!!! Looks like yours will be better than the GMP diecasts!!!
  6. Uh oh, someone has been working in non ventilated areas!
  7. Actually, you can buy one can of each and do several kits!
  8. I'm sorry but with all due respect to Art, he is NOT completely correct. There have been many, many model kits that have never seen the light of day in any major retailer such as Walmart. I find it funny that I still have not had anyone give me a proper answer as to why Revell AG chose to make the off shore oil rig, the bucket wheel excavtor and the Atomic Power plant????? And these are just off the top of my head! You were lucky to see ONE of those kits in a hobby shop but you know what, THEY WERE STILL PRODUCED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if a completely obsure subject that not very many people have EVER EVEN SEEN, actually gets made into a full blown model kit, than how can a single one of you make me think that a bulldozer, that, unless your from another planet, you have a good idea of what they look like will never be made into one????
  9. YOUR part in this discussion is a wasted attempt to convince me you know what all or most modelers want. Ain't gonna happen! You don't have ANY idea what all or most modelers want as I know for a fact that you have never been in one room with them and asked them if they would or would not like a kit of this nature!
  10. Dean, I'm just passing time. Not trying to upset anyone or even say that I am right. My initial post stated that I would like to see a new piece of construction equipment tooled up and then instead of everyone allowing me to my opinion, I was bombarded with people that not only don't build the subject, think they know what most or all modelers want. The simple fact is, if brand new model kits of a 1/24 D9R dozer were sitting on hobby shop shelves or online, none of us, not me, you or anyone on this forum have any idea how well they would sell because it hasn't happened yet. (For anyone bound to do so...), don't come at me with "but no model company will take that risk" yea, and maybe that is their loss! Again, none of us know. Some people on here act as if they can actually see the future! Now with that being said, yes diecast models are available of a lot of subjects but A: they are heavier than plastic and that's going to matter if you use them as a load on a plastic trailer. And B: How much nicer would it be to be able to start out with an unassembled model that you can build, detail and weather, as you build it, not to mention the fun and challenge of actually getting to build it!
  11. Yea, you had no idea because all you care about is your subject matter. You don't have a clue of what model builders as whole want. And yes, your right, we don't know, just yet how well the Meng dozer will do but hey........guess what........the kit is already been made!
  12. Also, the "vast majority" of modelers are military modelers. Gee.........they just had a new dozer kit made in their primary scale. How sad is it that not a single one will be sold?? It's just terrible!
  13. Ummmm, AMT made two dump truck kits and added parts to one to turn it into a snowplow. ERTL made two dump kits, the S Series and the Paystar, Italeri made a Freightliner dump truck, Revell made a Kenworth dump truck.......try again.
  14. Nope....no fair Harry, you said you were done after the last post you made!!!!
  15. I would say either a Cat D9R or similar type modern dozer or maybe a front end loader.
  16. Hi Richard, I would but I have no way to scan them.
  17. Incredible weathering!!!!!!!! You really do great work!!!!!!
  18. I agree, a huge D11R kit would not sell very well. He asked what I would like to see made into a kit. From a business standpoint, I would say a Cat D9R would sell much better. It's smaller and can be hauled on a large lowboy without being broken down and it looks very similar to the D11R. I would like to see a full detailed 1/24 kit of a D11R but I know there would be a much better chance of a D9R being attempted.
  19. Just a lil bulldozer trivia thrown in to make your day! The world's largest production bulldozer is the Komatsu 575 (of Which Kibri makes a kit in 1/87 scale) but the biggest dozer ever built was the ACCO.
  20. Ok, is that irony or did someone place that heavy equipment ad at the bottom of my post?? That's too funny! Oh well, it's gone now? It was funny while it was there! LOL
  21. i'm not asking why Revell or Revell AG, as it may be, produced these kits, I'm saying how did ANY kit manufacturer make the decision to produce a kit of this size and expense? Yes, the power plant was from many, many years ago but even back then, how did Revell know it was a wise investment to produce a huge model of such an obsure subject? Were there any, model power plant builders or groups back then???? Seems very unlikely.
  22. Here: http://www.google.com/imgres?q=d9+dozer+next+to+a+d11r+dozer&sa=X&biw=1024&bih=571&tbm=isch&tbnid=YXG39CmL7IwSgM:&imgrefurl=http://www.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DpGVTYpYPz9E&docid=4kPFcVeHOb5ICM&imgurl=http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/pGVTYpYPz9E/maxresdefault.jpg&w=1280&h=720&ei=DjsiUu-hOpa0sASO14GoCQ&zoom=1&iact=rc&page=3&tbnh=132&tbnw=227&start=37&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:44,s:0,i:218&tx=75&ty=77 this will give an idea of the size of the D11 dozer. LOL
  23. Hmm, for some reason, It's squishing the picture of the dozer side to side? Tried to fix it but no luck. Anyway, this is one of the biggest dozers in the world.
