One of my old customers (I'm in the RV repair business) had his B17 painted on the back of his motorhome. He had lost his arm in the war. He had some cool stories!

Wake me up before you go go...... -
Thank you! I drive these roads everyday. I actually LIVE here in the US. I also watch the news everyday, when there are accidents, they show them. The local news would need to be on 24 hours if we had that many accidents and they reported them. You (Cliff) keep defending them by bringing up things that are totally irrevelent! What does smoking crack have to do with bad driving????? Show me video after video of EVERY DAY, NORMAL drivers in America having as many accidents as these other countries and then you'll have a point! Until then, your fooling yourself!

Peterbilt Detroit Diesel color?
Ben replied to ss2000's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In the 70's Peterbilt was painting all the different types of engines, white but they could be found in the normal colors as well. -
Really?? Your talking about a television show showing police chases, some of which are from other countries. What we are talking about here is everyday people, not criminals trying to escape the law. These are people driving the streets of these countries every day causing crash after crash!!!!! i can show you fifty videos of horrible Russian drivers. I challenge you to show me that many from here in the US!
-
I've watched those videos and I just sit there shaking my head at the incredibly stupid things I see drivers doing over there! You couldn't pay me to get in a car and go anywhere if I were in Russia!!!!! China is really bad as well! Then you have the Arabs that are into drifting at 100 miles an hour with ten people in the car, two of them sitting on the window ledge and then the car loses control and flips!!! Either that or they lose control and take out fifty people standing right on the edge of the street?!?!?!

As a long time caster myself, I know that anything in rubber resin takes much more time to prepare and cast than hard resin does. I also realize that these guys do this to help our hobby when they are able too. Very few do it "to make a living" so it's very understandable that life, work and family come first. As long as the caster stays in touch and eventually delivers a quality part, I'm happy. Remember, good things come to those who wait.

What I would like to ask the "it's just a model car" guy's is, if you bought a kit that you had hoped a model company would produce, paid 25.00 for that kit and then found it had a very warped body or a short shot (not enough plastic injected to complete the body shell),would you be happy with it and fix it or would you want a replacement body? -

Anyone been watching street outlaws?
Ben replied to Dragfreak's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I like it. I watch it every chance I get but the way they try to drum up drama is irritating. They always act like they just barely got away from being caught by the cops when they do a test run and the cops were probably never even around. I think it's funny how everyone has a nickname. Funny, my buddies and I used to street race all the time and not one of us had a nickname like that! The statement of "we have the fastest cars in the country", is a joke. I'm sure there's plenty of other cars that are faster! -

Do you think this would sell well in resin?

Hey Tom, are you still considering making this cab? -
Coming soon to a theater near you.
Ben replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
As much as I want to see this, I just know they are going to over dramatize everything! They can't make any movie anymore without dumping in extreme amounts of drama that ruins the story line! Just tell the story like it happened! I don't need to know that his sister is dying of a disease, the bank is about to take his home, how bad of a drinking problem he has, etc. etc.! -
Ford N-500 Pics
Ben replied to Casey's topic in 1:1 Reference Photos: Auto Shows, Personal vehicles (Cars and Trucks)
I just ordered the one from Dan Models in Romania. There's actually two parts or two seperate kits that make up his version. There's the cab kit that contains all the cab and interior pieces and then there's the chassis kit that has the frame, wheels and tires and Cummins engine. The Dan Models is the heavier, Ford N 950 and the Motor City version (mastered by Tim Ellifrit) is an N 600 which would more than likely be gas powered. I'm thinking about ordering another chassis from Dan Models and the N 600 cab from Motor City to have that version as well. I would just omit the Cummins for tthe proper Ford gas engine in the N 600. -

If I ever get around to building one of my Aurora Racing scenes funny cars, I plan on detail the heck out of it like this as well! I keep putting all kinds of detailing accessories in the box whenever I come across them. -

My first car was a 75 Gremlin, Faun (tan) in color with these hubcaps, about as ugly as they get! LOL I want to build a model of it but I don't remember ever seeing these stock wheels or hub caps anywhere? Even just the hub caps would work as I think the steel wheels were just Mopar, four slot reverse wheels?

I like "B". This would be a fun build if I had any place safe to put it!

Just remember guys, you can NEVER make everyone happy!!!!!!! Our opinions are as different as our finger prints. What Moebius is doing is great for our hobby, period! They have become my most favorite model company simply because they actually listen to our opinions and share so much information with us. Everything I have bought from Moebius so far has been fantastic!!! There are minor things that I think could have been done differently but I'm a model builder. As long as the major proportions are correct, minor details are usually easy to fix. If you take a kit that has minor inaccuracies and you correct them, your just showing everyone you have a passion for that vehicle and that you are an accomplished model builder. To me, that's part of the fun. Think about it, if a model company were to make a kit so perfect that you could just build it straight from the box to get a perfect replica, wouldn't that be just like buying a Franklin Mint vehicle or a Danbury Mint vehicle? I think most of us buy model kits instead, because in a way, they challenge us to produce a quality, finished piece the way we want it to look. -
