Shouldn't the rear window decal read "Found On Road Dead"? Just kidding. Very nice build. SHINY :) RULES!

I plan on watching this build. Never did the '40 pickup. -
I might have to get me one of those kits.

That digital version is cool. I like the page turning sounds. Bad part is that the type is too small to read (for me). -
Certainly not my style but a sorta cool build. Your sure messed up the body pretty well.

My first painted model and first model since my early teens!-85 mustang

Painting takes practice and then more practice. -
I'm sweating, Rob. I'm frozen. Temp this morning is 27 going to 67 and this is it for a while. We're going back to a more normal weather pattern today. I've a couple of coral snakes; black snakes and brown snakes, but they're supposed to be good guys that eat rodents. They must eat well becasue I've never seen a mouse down here. Little (1") white, scorpions run around after pine trees are cut down. They appear to like living up in the trees. Did you see the newspaper article about a 11 foot salt water alligator in Australia that confiscated a workers lawn mower? Guy was cutting the grass in the compound and the gator decided he wanted it. Gator was huge!

Wheels please. The plastic bag is messing up your pic. Are those Cragar S/S in there?

Yo Gregg - ever get the filter(s)?

We're up to 34 right now. I used to come down to FLA at the end of April every year for the Vietnam Veteran reunion in Melbourne. When I knew I'd be retiring I started checking out the area. Melbourne was too crowded. We didn't like the Howey in the Hills area. Came over to the left coast and loved the 2 lane roads, no traffic, and few people. The drawback is that we have to travel for decent shopping. It's about a 25 mile ride to Ocala. Besides all that, we got a great deal on a 1800 sq ft house with an inground pool sitting on almost 3/4 acre property. Train show Sunday.

Maybe Gregg could box up some warm sunshine and send it over?

Sometimes I miss the excitement of having people shoot at me and being able to shoot back.

Never seen an alligator in the 10 years we've been here. I like those little frogs that climb. They must have ittle suction cups on their feet. We have a light post out in the front yard with a plany climbing up and around it. Summertime the frogs climb up by the light and a smorgasboard with the bugs around the light. They're fun to watch.

Luckily I wasn't wearing a helmet. The ER docs said if I'd been wearing one, the way I landed would probably snapped my spine. Part of the yard (about 150-200 sq. ft.) down here is very lush with local plants. During the summer it gets so dense that you can hardly see through it. Bring on the humidity, work outdoors for a bit, and wait for rain to take shower. Almost like being back in The 'Nam, George. It just don't get much better.

Back in 2000 I had a bike accident. A car decided to make a left turn into me. His fender caught me between my front axle and the shifter. I still don't why I have a left foot and I don't remember trying to get my foot out of the way. I was thrown up and forward, supposedly did a perfect summersault in the air and landed hard on the road. Both knees were hyper extended, 8 broken ribs, concussion, road rash. The cold winter in Chicago was killing my knees. That's what really prompted my move to FLA. I had a very nice house in Aurora before moving. I tiled the garage floor, added a drain and heat. I'd get home from work, eat dinner, and wash my black 4x4 Dodge pickup in the warm garage. It always felt good driving a clean vehicle when most of the others were covered in salt spray.

Thanks Felix. I think that'll be my last box stock build. I actually feel guilty about no flocking or engine details.

I don't like when people visit FLA, George. It's supposed to be good for our economy but we sure don't see it in our area. Maybe over by Orlando or Tampa with all the attractions they have. It's been in our local paper that you DO NOT want to be walking around Orlando alone at night. Evidently gangs take over the city. Scary. I can put up with a couple of nights of cold temps. It sure beats winters in Chicago.

Hey Stu. Maybe you can answer a question unrelated to models. I'm confused about England, Great Britain, and UK. Aren't they all the same?

Dodge Ram 3500 Service Truck
crazyjim replied to Wheels's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Looks terrific, Mark. You want to think about adding lines to the oxygen and actcetylene bottles. I believe those tanks are supposed to be painted a specific color - green and orange, respectively. -
Another SHINY :) one, Stu? I love it. I built that kit just about out of the box and entered in the Street Machine class in a show. Because it had slicks on it, the judges forced it into a racing class. I have another in my inventory and it will get Ma's Resin M/T Sportsman tires in the rear with VCG Resin Weld 5 star wheels.
