  1. Lookin good, Shane. I'll have to check back on your progress.
  2. Those are sweet trucks.... I want that kit now. A friend of mine had one a while back. He had it running low 12's with some little gremlins he couldn't figure out, so he got tired of it and sold it to a friend. His friend bought a bunch of stuff for it, and asked my buddy to install it since he was familiar with the truck. It was running high 11's at that point. They're pretty impressive little trucks. Much faster than my old '93 S10 was...
  3. Very nice!
  4. Thanks, that's where I was headed... The '84 GMC kit I have is a shortbed.
  5. Is the Fall Guy kit the same as the recently issued AMT 1984 GMC Pickup?
  6. I wonder how much of the '68 El Camino kit could be used under the AMT body? I'll have to dig out the unbuilt AMT '72 I have, and the '68 Elky and mock some stuff up...
  7. Looks great! I'm pleased to see this color is available. I will have to get some so I can build a replica of my friend's '69 GT350 in Black Jade.
  8. Thanks for the welcomes and compliments. Heya, Matt, good to see ya here.
  9. Dunno if we're supposed to post newbie posts to intro ourselves (didn't see a specific section for that...) but I figured I'd post one. My name's Eric, I live about halfway between Houston and Galveston, TX. I build musclecars, late-model muscle, some traditional rat-rod-ish stuff, some drag stuff, and have a few police/fire and road race kits and project ideas that haven't come together yet. Some of you may know me from the Model Car List and Straight Line Modeler lists, but I haven't been active on them in a while because I just don't have time to sort through emails, so I figured the forum here would be better for me. I have pics of builts in my Fotki album, link is in my sig. I haven't finished anything in several years, but I've started plenty. :-)
  10. Looking good!
  11. Wow, that's odd. They're usually full around here. Guess that means nobody is buying kits at one of our locations, but I'm not sure which one... :-)
  12. Shane, I got the Cafe Racer from Bernard. I guess the GTP IMSA car was from Chuck's booth, but I didn't see Chuck anywhere around. I think it was Jack that was there, and the ladies I recognize but haven't ever 'met'. I was there Friday afternoon.
  13. I got these from the swap meet at the Houston Autorama this past Friday. I'm working on the Cafe Racer kit right now, since I took the day off of work. It just got primered, and I'm about to start on the engine.
  14. I also preferred the Monogram. I made the mistake of painting my AMT one white, then smudged up the painted areas around the headlights trying to install the headlight bezels into the body. I was a kid then, and may have better luck with a little more patience these days, but that's the one thing that stands out in my mind about the AMT- the smudges on the front end.
